It's with a very heavy heart that I have to write this. Greg Holman, a fellow Bueller, racer and good friend was killed last night in a motorcycle accident. I just spoke with Dana, and I still can't believe what she told me. Is it wrong for a 40 year old guy to cry? I hope not, cause I can't stop.
Greg was part of the Windy City group. I just saw him last weekend down at the MotoGP race at Indy. Would have saw him next weekend for the last race of the season.
Please say a prayer for him, his family and friends. I know I will never forget him.

Cry your eyes out, it doesn't matter to anyone. Anybody that says they don't cry is an idiot. Real men DO cry. Sorry for the loss of your dear friend.

I'm sorry to hear this Rocco. I know Greg from this forum and we may have met at Buell Homecoming's in the past. He was a very active member of this forum with great standing. God Speed Greg. Andrea and I's prayers go out to his family and all that knew him.

For all on this board. He was known as Mxer83

God speed. My prayers are with him, his wife, and family. I only knew Greg for about a year, but he was a stand up guy, a true gentleman. My youngest daughter loved him, and spent plenty of time at the last round in his pit. I also had the honor of racing against him on several occasions. He was definitely fast, and a great sportsman.

Rocco,

Let it out man. I'm there with ya. If you need to talk, or need anything, you have my number.

Terrible news! I met him at Homecoming...he seemed very passionate about Buells and motorcycles. He was the guy that was very muscular and looked like he probably worked out as much as he rode bikes.

RIP

This was one of his first races on his old bike. It's just not going to be the same with him not there.
There will be a huge hole in the heart of Buell Alley this coming race weekend.
He was a great guy. It's just not fair.

This was written by a fellow racer on the CCS website. It really helped me.

Brother, praying for Greg's family and friends. As far as crying goes, the shortest verse in the Bible is simply this, "Jesus wept". It happened when He witnessed the deep love and sense of loss that people were experiencing from the death of their friend. Our racing family is a tight one, the death of a bro means one of the threads of laughter, friendship and encouragement, that had been woven into all of our lives, has been removed. A painful loss and worthy of tears. Very sorry bro that your friend Greg has passed, but there is hope, for as much as God says it is appointed for every man to die once, in an instant,"in the twinkling of an eye", as our last breath fails, we will pass from life, unto eternal life, through Christ our Savior.

Greg was a good rider, one of the funniest guys I've ever met behind the rather rough-hewn exterior, and an extremely dependable person --

he was my friend

our sport, our passion, takes to many of our friends from us -- though I didn't see Greg often, his passing will leave a big hole in my life

shit

I did not know him but feel like I did from the many common acquaintances.

I know his type of people and like them.

I'm so sorry to hear this.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they mourn Greg's loss.

It's been a few hours since I recieved the news but it still hasn't fully sunk in yet. Greg was one of those people that was a true friend. Always there when you really needed him. He was right behind me when I crashed at Deal's Gap. My biggest concern was for my bike, but Greg made sure I was okay.

Damn....this sucks!!

I might just get a Geo Metro and cut the top off in memory of him (Bomber and Mark will know what I mean).

God speed, my friend!!!

I didn't know greg very well, only through buying/selling of parts over the years. He seemed like a really nice guy and ironically from my hometown area. He's the second person in two days that i know to be killed out on his bike. Its sad to think that good people are taken from us prematurely but obviously god's path for him is unknown to us. I'm sure that if we could see god's larger picture that maybe we could understand. i pray the his family can find comfort in their faith in this difficult time, my families prayers are with them.-andrew
