XLCR - I want one! |

NOt if you actually want a performance machine that rides remotely well, you don't. The XLCR was about the biggest hand-job that HD ever manufactured- looked sporty, performed horribly. I owned one for about a week, and immediately dumped it to someone else. |

ustorque: "cafe-ing" that scoot would devalue it entirely, and remove yet another rare, original antique motorcycle from existence. You want to cafe something? Buy a wreck. |

easy there tramp, don't get too excited. that bike took long enough to get into the condition you see before you and i have no plans of ruining it, just minor mods that can easily be swapped back to stock(bars and such, no major surgery). the story behind that bike is a funny one, some friends and i actually found it chained to a tree in the woods about 13 years ago. the state did a search to find an owner then without luck granted us a title. there are 3 of us that assume ownership of the bike and have restored it to its original form over many years, she's a great little scoot.....the 6 speed trans makes her really a fun bike to ride. |

Bads1 I saw that black Kawi on e-bay for sale. Did you get it? I remember it going for a big price. H models were really cool with the light switch like powerband. Hard to ride too. I scared myself quite a few times on my old mans H3. |

Honda GB500 - stock I believe... was this bike ever sold in the US?

Yes, the Honda GP 500 was sold briefly in the USA, but by the time it got here, in 1989, I believe, the cafe racer fad had died, and young guys were interested in multis. I rode several of these when they were newish, and they were a big improvement over the English models that they copied. They were counter balanced, so they were smoother, and more reliable. They handled well, and had ample power, although many were modified in the engine room. |

The GB500 is one of the nicest factory direct cafes I have ridden, very nice and forgiving ergos, way better than the Triumph Thruxton. I would buy one if I could find one for under 9K ! |

Nice pics! I never would've believed you could make a CX500 look that good. What sort of frame is the Norton before the CX500? |

I was pretty floored, too. They've even been turned into racers.
My wife was interested in seeing some cafe racer bikes a few weeks ago...it seems like almost every 70's standard is a decent candidate. I remembered the CX being a pretty quirky yet cool bike back in the day. It actually has a pretty short wheelbase for that era. The Norton is using a Laverda 668 Ghost frame. Another Norton special I thought these were a little funny Some more bikes

Am I the only one who noticed the chippy on the Yammi ? The only thing hotter than a chick on a bike, is a chick on a bike wearing a skirt ! Well done Rick_a. |
