Sometimes I'm worried where we're going... http://www.chroniclet.com/2008/06/17/killer-arrive d-after-closing-time-blasted-clerk-with-rifle/ http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_9603906 A local kitten was found disemboweled on a major street. One person saw some teenagers kill the kitten and did nothing. She came outside when a patrol car found the still warm kitten. One of my classmates was the officer... My dad found some of the neighbor's kids throwing an orange kitten in the air and went outside to yell at them. He got the kitten from them and dragged two of them to their house. The parents response? 'We don't like cats' The kitten is pretty beaten, but should be okay. I visited with some family and my aunt who breeds boxers is going to have a one week old puppy euthanized because it came out white and won't sell. She's going to kill it because it won't sell. WTF is wrong with people? If she hasn't done so yet, I'll be adopting a boxer pup. Maybe I'm just soft, but I've never had the killer instinct or the criminal mentality... |

l'm with you. The most common denominator with serial killers is they started with cruelty with animals. Scary. |

I determined to start a foundation for abused animals. This foundation will purchase large quantities of ammunition to be used on the abusers. These people deserve nothing less. |

People that prey on the weak or those that cannot defend themselves (the elderly, children, animals) are the lowest form of scum on this planet. I would eagerly contribute to Corp. Monkeys foundation, except it would be a waste of good ammo. These people deserve a taste of what they are dishing out - sort of an eye for an eye type of thing. |

People are screwed up. When I was a kid I was taught to respect life of any kind, regardless of race, religion, or even freaking species. You don't just go randomly killing things... |

When I was in my 20s I looked out and saw some neighbor kids chasing some cat around and trying to hit it with a stick. I ran out and yelled something like,"How would you little f*****s like it if I hit you with a f***ing stick?!!?" I would see that cat hanging around the neighborhood, ripping open my garbage bags, and chasing birds. I started putting food on my porch to try and keep him out of trouble. Even though I'm not a huge fan of cats, he eventually moved in, and stayed for nearly 15 years. Good to see you are taking on another hard luck story. I think a white boxer sounds extremely cool. Good luck, Bill |

People are nuts. I saw awhile back there was a really popular podcast from China or Japan that had models wearing skimpy outfits stomping kittens to death with high heels. If I could have gotten those models within reach, I'd have beaten them quite nearly to death myself. Seriously. In my mind there is no greater evil than harming defenseless babies of any kind. Hope you can rescue that boxer. Smack your aunt around for me, will ya? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard... she'd rather kill it than give it away? Unbelievable. ~SM |

Yeah, a friend of mine has a daughter who is always harassing the family cat, not handling it well and I swear some days I have the urge to backhand that girl when I hear the poor thing meowing -- don't know what it is about people who hurt animals but man that is a button. Thats part of the reason I don't watch the news anymore -- I'm tired of the "it bleeds it leads" mentality. I could give you the short, short, short version of psychology 101 but really it probably wouldn't help you feel any better. Suffice to say that the more people who watch a horrid thing the lest likely one of those people will step up and stop it -- we are just wired that way. Also you all have heard the old line that love and hate are two sides of the same coin -- well it's true, people can hate or pity something like a kitting and it only takes a small nudge to go from one to the other. And then there are the people who just weren't raised right, you know. Some days I get kind of bummed out about all of this small stuff -- not to mention the big stuff like economy or energy issues. Sometimes I wonder if we are just itching to off ourselves as a species. Yeah, hope you can give the boxer a home -- imagine, killing something because it's the wrong color. That kind of irony almost hurts, doesn't it? Do what you can for those you can, thats my motto. "How would you like it if I hit you with a stick?" -- gonna have to remember that one, friggen brilliant man. |

If that boxer needs a home, let me know. It'll fit right in with my pound-adopted husky mix and aussie mix...and the pug will keep it in shape by running it all over the house "Don't kill it if you aren't going to eat it". Ted Nugent may be a bit on the wacko side (personally I love the guy), but he's got a point. I don't like cats either, but I'm not out there killin' em because of it. They may taste like chicken, but they're real stringy...

I saw a guy that had a cat cornered by his pit bull. The dog was on a leash, but the guy had this giant idiotic grin on his face and was egging the dog on as the cat cowered in the corner of a fence. I slammed on the brakes, and got out of the car and started towards him. They guy must've seen the look on my face, and high-tailed it out of there. I was enraged. |

She's going to kill it because it won't sell. That's essentially how we ended up with our first Old English Sheepdog rescue. She was purchased to show. Being deaf, the owner could not show her. His answer was to take her to the vet to be put down. What an idiot. We ended up with a great puppy that lived a very spoiled life. Mean people suck regardless of their age. Post pics of that boxer! |

Though nothing quite so dramatic, there's a reason all of my pets have been rescues. Why go to a breeder when there are so many great animals that need a caring home? My only regret thus far is that I was unable to take both my current dog AND his brother from the foster home. >.< ...that's my girlfriend's cat (another rescue) checking him out the day we brought him home. Eyewitnesses reported coming upon Aguilar attacking the boy on Saturday night. They tried to stop him as he swung and slammed the child into the asphalt behind his parked four-door Toyota pickup. This guy deserves to be shot between the eyes. And Thump...you say this is your Aunt? You tell that woman I'll adopt the dog. That's bullshit to have a pup killed because it's white. My mother-in-law has a white boxer. One of the most beautiful dogs I've ever seen. |

Yeah, aunt. Not blood, by marriage. It's siblings are already sold for $1,000 each. I called her and left her a VM. I hope I'm not too late. |

I visited with some family and my aunt who breeds boxers is going to have a one week old puppy euthanized because it came out white and won't sell. She's going to kill it because it won't sell. Unfortunately, this is common practice among those breeding boxers for show since the AKC does not recognize them within the breed. For that reason, white boxers are extremely hard to find. I had to drive down to Atlanta from Central Pennsylvania to get my white boxer (closest one I could find). Well worth the 30 hours I spent in a car to get her. I hope you aren't too late! |

There was this barista at the local coffee place I frequent that used to have an "un-docked" white Boxer (long tail and ears). One of the sweetest dogs I've ever met! Many folks coudn't guess the breed. Definitely was unusual! I hope that you're able to rescue the pup! |

Firebolt, that guy was killed by the police officer. My aunt just called. I have someone to ride in my sidecar with! I have to sign an agreement to spay her and not breed her... Stupid, but I'm okay with that. She's healthy and active, she was just born the wrong color. Her name is Casey. Why bother naming a puppy you're gonna have put to sleep? |

I was building a motor crate one afternoon at my old shop and heard a big commotion coming from the back of the business next door. There were two young men doing yardwork in the back lot(with a mower and a weedeater. One of the pr....I mean young fella's was chasing a ferrell(sp) cat with the weed eater and the other was trying to corner her. They were looking at it like a game, laughing and whooping and hollering... Before I knew it I was in the lot(fenced in) with them chasing the weedeater guy with a hammer(hey, I was wearing a tool belt). The cat got away and I had a really serious talk with the owner of the business. I watched for the cat but she was GONE. She left behind 2 brand spanky new kittens. No teeth and eyes still closed. I carried them around all day every day (in my pocket at first) and fed them with bottles. I didn't get much sleep for a few weeks but the kittens grew into the cutest little babies. Posey and Stempy, respectfully. I found a great home for the two of them together and babysat for them when the owners needed me. That was about 18 years ago. It still makes me mad to this very day. I have had 3 Mastiff rescues that make me weep to think about the treatment they had to endure before they found us. I have an American Dingo still that was kept in a cage for 7 months til she came to us. I have 4 cats. One was taken from the street(literally). A little girl(yeah, that's right) was trying to see what would happen if a truck ran over the cat. I chased her(after retrieving the cat from the road) through a parking lot and spoke to her Mother, who said, "it's just a stray cat". Then I spoke to her a bit more harshly and the Dad came out. He wasn't so Passe' about the event. Anyway, as you can tell, mistreating animals is about a low as a person can go in my book. And I didn't even tell you about the time I broke into a car in the Sam's parking lot and filled his floorboard with ice and THEN called the cops. |

I wanna hear about the breaking in! Jackie is a dispatcher for the Highway Patrol and one of the officers found a couple kittens in a stranded car a few weeks ago. They're Callie and Cole now. The orange rescue (from the neighbor kid) is Chedder. Dad went to New Orleans after Katrina and rescued animals. We kept one, his name is Ben. Jack was a rescue from the APL. I rescued a three leg box turtle, aptly name Tripod from traffic on I71 just north of Columbus, OH. We had him for at least 8 years before he recently passed away. All of our pets had a difficult time before they found us... |

Awwwwww, sad, but we've all got stories of cruelty. We saw it the other day at the Audubon, where a group of teenagers were taunting/prodding/kicking a bigger snapping turtle. |

...that's when you 'accidentally' bump one of them into range. They won't think it's so funny when the snapper has a chance to fight back (and they've lost a digit or a chunk of meat from somewhere). |

I have an orange cat named Cheddar. He came from the SPCA. He has a tattoo in his ear soze you can tell he was sprung from the joint. The rescue from the story above is named Bart(short for Bartox, the magnificent)He is a beautiful cat, a bit on the crazy side, but very lovable. He has a hole in one of his pretty blue eyes from the nasty little, aformentioned, child. Other than that, he is perfect. He has lived with us for 15 years now. The break in was a necessity. If I had had a bit more time and less witnesses, I would have made off with the dog and no one would have been the wiser. I would have found him a more deserving home and the dog would have definitely lead a better life. My first Mastiff came to me at 2 and a half years old. 114 lbs, sick and beaten. His head swollen from being hit and mouth infected from dog bites. Wes paid the guy to let him go and it took me months to get him straightened out. He was 185 of muscle when he hit his prime. He loved us and we were sorrowful when he died 7 years later. The second Mastiff was just a puppy. She was a cull, destined for euthanasia. Turns out she was possibly inbred and had no immune system to speak of. She lived a year and had to have constant medical attention. The third was the most horrific. He was about 2 and weighed maybe 40 lbs. The vet said he would not have lasted even a week. He was blind and couldn't eat. He couldn't stand up for more than 30 seconds before collapsing. He was so malnutritioned from birth, he had bones in his front legs that didn't grown all the way to his paws. I fed him tiny bits of home cooked food(liver, chicken and rice) and prescription vitamins for weeks before he could eat on his own. I had to have his eyes operated on to correct the cherry eye he developed and eventually he became able to see shapes and shadows. He was a beautiful dog with a fantastic disposition, despite the first two years of his life. He died at 5 and a half years old of kidney failure. But for 3 and a half years he lived like a King. Oh, his top weight(healthy) was 145 lbs. He gained 105 lbs in my care. I would still spit in the previous owners eye if I ever see him again. Anyway, I have gone on enough about this. |

as much as i believe that pet owners should spey and neuter there pets so there aren't any unwanted little ones, i think you should let someone on here take the boxer thump and tell your aunt that someone stole her before you had a chance to have her speyed just to piss her off. |
