So, who here is a fan of Guinness? I have pretty much given up beer and bourbon (222 lbs Jan 06 now 189 lbs) to help lose the weight, but the Irish devil still calls me from time to time.

Oh, and I am on my third, thinking of a fourth....

I tried a bottle once. Somebody left a Tampon applicator in the bottle and it tasted like it too. I guess I'm just a wimpy Bud man..........

We prefer liquid ales.

Best part about Guiness and English beer is that if you knock the glass over it doesn't spill out.

You'll never get a hangover drinking Guinness.

The Guiness you get at the brewery in ireland tastes very different from what is sold here in the US. I like the US distributed Guiness, but the Ireland Guiness would make me give up beer.

Fish and Beer should never mix.

Alesmith Speedway Stout for me... or some Arrogance.

Guiness is by far one of the best store bought beers in the world, as long as its not the Guiness they brew in Canada. check your bottles before purchase.

The elixir of life. Just a shame you can't get it warm here in the states. I have never trusted a beer you can see through and resembles piss before you drink it. Have been thinking of painting my S3 like a pint.

You are going to think I am weird.

I don't drink very much, and very rarely have a beer (once a year, maybe).

But, I love the look of Guiness, the way the head filters down the glass. I find it fascinating, as no other beverage does it. It is a very zen thing for me.

So I have been known to order a Guiness on tap and just watch it.

Sometimes it is the little things that make life interesting.

>>through and resembles piss before you drink it.<<

If it looks the same before and after it's easier to drink more of. Less energy on the conversion.

Guinness and Bass are about the only beers I'll buy.

Some Sam Adams Boston Lager occasionally.

+1 for Guiness, but the draft variety is much better than bottled or canned. Even the draft seems to vary significantly in taste.

BTW 4cammer, they were running billboard ads here in SC touting their low calorie content (160 calories IIRC?). One of them had a picture of a glass of Guiness, with "Only 160 calories. We know, we didn't believe it either."

Just a shame you can't get it warm here in the states.

The Vortex serves warm from the tap! Had one with my Texas cheese/bbq burger.

Corporate, Try a Boddingtons pub ale. It pours just like a guiness but with a light color. It is a heavy beer but light in taste, good alternative!

"Guinness is good for you". is what they say in Ireland, and they would know!

An interesting variation for the sophisticated Guinness enthusiast is called "Black Velvet".

One fills a champagne flute half full of Guinness Stout, and then slowly tops up with Champagne.

Delightfully smooth, or so I am told.

Mmmm...Guinness...

I've gotta be in the mood to drink my meal, however, a black and tan made of Guinness and Bass is pure heaven.

I LOVE GUINNESS! I used to be in to mixing my Guinness but now I perfer it straight up. For you Guinness mixers though try a Black and Brown. The brown is Newcastle.

Has any one ventured overseas and had a beer made buy Guinness called Killkenny (not sure on the spelling). It is a heavy amber and is by far my favorite, but you can not buy it any where I have traveled in the US.

Guinness, has been reclassified.

It's no longer classed as beer, it comes under FOOD now.

Notice the color of our clip art beer? 'Bout says it all.

Guinness is my favorite beer. Served at a proper 58 deg. There is only one pub in Sacramento that serves it right. Stop by the Bone Lair 3651 J Street, and bring your favorite stein!
