Has anyone ever put a hack on a Blast?

Just thinking how fun that would be for a "winter" daily rider.... knobby tires... heated everything...

The frame construction type is a bit problematic for the mounting, although I agree it sounds fun.

I could not imagine a Blast pulling the weight of a sidecar and passenger... or stopping one.

If my old Dnepr MT10-36 can do it then the Blast can.

I'd almost kill to swap the old motor out for something a little more modern.

It would work no problem!
You would definatly need to fabricate your own mounting and I would suggest a fiberglass hack.

Also,
For snow riding 2WD will be a big bonus, I am not sure if it is needed but the Dneper an Ural recommend 2WD for muddy and icy conditions.

For weight reasons I would update the rear shock and put newer tuber front forks and brakes on her just for the added weight.

I was thinking about the same exact thing with studded tires (aerostitch offers a kit...) and heated gear with a Roadcrafter suit...

A friend of mine here has a Jawa350 2 stroke hack, Blast would be no prob.
Use a coffin for the bodywork, just to annoy your neighbours.

It would be cool to do a "flat bed" design that you could put a wheelchair on.
Take it to MDA camp and give the kids a ride.

I made a flat bed for "towing" my Weslake Speedway bike to CalExpo and Fast Fridays during racing season.
The speedway bike fit best with the rear wheel facing forward and the handle bars behind me. Quite a sight seeing a motorcycle with rider carrying another bike 65mph on the freeway to the races.
(Those were the days!)

Here's something I found with a quick Google search:

Date: October 22, 2006
Topic: Sidecar on a Harley
Message: Hey Cyclesidecar people.........I am looking at putting a sidecar on my Harley Davidson Buell Blast. Will it fit?
Cindy - LA

Cyclesidecar Reply: Cindy,
The Cozy will be a good match for the Buell Blast. The Blast has plenty of power and should do well with a hack attached. With our universal mount kit you should not have any trouble at all. We hope you are in the dry part of Louisiana.

Why not use an ATV rear diff and make a wicked trike...?

Are there any ATVs with a chain-drive differential?

All the ATV diffs I've seen are for shaft-driven vehicles, so they won't work w/o lotsa effort....

Oh and here's my hack and monkey:

Long ago, I remember seeing a Blast with a sidecar here on Badweb. It was yellow, and owned by someone in Wisconsin, I think. He used it for racing and speed trials.

Found a couple of pics:

I took a trip to the local metric dealer and checked them out. All of the sporting ATV's use chains. The workhorse ATV's seem to be shaft drives. I don't think it would be too diffcult to do a three wheeler Blast, probably far less expensive, easily reversible, 2wd for snow, ability to run knobby tires, etc...
