That big ass headlight just makes it look really goofy. With some different styling it could be a sweet project.

Yeah, but it walks on water. As does the rising star builder.

It'd be really weird to be sitting at a stop light, see that bike pull up next to you, give the throttle a little twist, and hear ... well, not a chopper sound, that's for sure!

Looks like a lot of work went into it though. -ish.

Man you think that was a wheelie machine before. Look how far back and upright you sit. Blip the throttle and your on you butt every time.

Looks like something built out of s*** found in a dumpster. Ugly beyone belief IMHO. "Fusion" styling?! Right. If this has won shows, it's the proof that there is no limit to bad taste.

Judging by the looks of the seat and the tank, if he rode it to the parking to shoot the picture he's probably touching himself because he hurts.

The styling is mismatched. The headlight doesn't fit, it has the wheelbase of a Skateboard, and are those handlebars from a 1977 Schwinn?

The front tire would never stay on the ground under hard acceleration. Is that a Nitrous bottle?

Tpoppa,
i read a write up on that bike in some bike mag last month. to answer your question yes that is a nitrous bottle, but it's for looks only... it's actually the over flow tank for the radiator... or atleast that's what the write up said.

You guys are too nice. That bike is a complete hack job. This guy claims to be a "bike builder?" that's a joke.

It's just an r6 with a bunch of bolted on crap. Maybe you had to weld that seat mount on, but other than that is just a pile of parts that I probably have in my basement.

Plus it's design is just sophomoric at best. A Yamaha I4 in a cruiser, what do you do, cruise at 12000 rpms in 3rd? The whole thing is just off balance.

Award winner too, that's a laugh, what did it win, Hooters tuesday bike night?

Come on, minus the paint job I bet most of us could make that bike in a weekend.

That's my beef with the whole "custom bike building" industry. Far too many of them are just "here's a pile of parts I ordered from Custom Chrome and bolted together", and then they say "I'm a custom bike builder". If that's all it takes to be a custom bike builder, then there is like 20 of them right here on this forum! Hell, I could be one! I put some aftermarket forward controls and hand controls on my Harley! WOW, I am a custom bike builder!

so turning a sportbike into a golf cart is a no no too?

if you look through that mesh screen below the seat you will see the signs of a header. GS1000 motor. 5 speed hurst floor shift. atv rear end. i fabed a 4 link front end. 6 air shocks for 14" of suspension adjustment...

I kinda' like the overall look, but not the goofy bars or light.

I think there are a few tell-tale items that prevent this bike from being taken seriously:

1.) The builder adopted a stage name. How lame is that?

2.) A nitrous bottle placed in a highly visible location that has NOTHING to do with nitrous. How very poser-ish!

I agree that pretty much anyone here who's fabbed something for their XB could pull this off in a weekend.

cool idea... only executed mediocre.

the styling in and of itself matches... it's a modern day billet bobber (hence the ugly headlight). the only thing is he did it with an R6 instead of an old honda 750-4. that's the only part that doesn't "match," really. but when you think about it, it's a lot like the late sixties at the rat's hole show.

it's nothing special, mind you. if this is all the effort it takes to be an "up-and-coming star" in bike building, i should have been on the discovery channel when i was 19. and my godfather (who won the rat's hole show in 71 with a 750-4) should be a bigger name than Jesse James.

of course...neither one of us is as pretty as this guy.....
