I lucked out, my block still has power, only lost it for a few hours. Just a little ice storm, nothing like the big one in 1991. My sister got home from work, found some jerk in her assigned apartment space, and parked elsewhere. Next morning a tree was in her spot, on top of jerks car. lol I was out mountain biking, rode back in storm, all tubes streamlined by ice. Stopped on top of hill to take in view & saw purple fireballs at substation as city blacked out a quarter at a time. This '03 ice over was mild in comparison. 19,000 still without power. Dang it, I want to get another 150 miles on the M2 so I can get 500 mile service, rejet my carb & toss on a Wileyco Ti muffler..... spitting at low throttle is needle & idle jet right?

Saddam Humor
THis morning they rounded up all of the "Saddam doubles".

They told them they have good news, and bad news.

Good News- Saddam survived last nights bombing.

Bad News- He lost an arm.

Guys,

My messenger died. Not sure what that means. A sign that I need to work more and e-mail less? Oh well. Nice weather to ride. Cool...

Damn deer almost got me to kiss the pavement last night.

Picked up the bike in Rhinelander at 8 am. Rode to work, a bit nippy, but ok. Rode to Rhinelander after work for Kung Fu class. Was pretty pleasant actually.

Took the twisty road home from class. Nice wooded areas with wetlands. Orange sunset behind me... actually awesome... everything was sparkling in the twilight... watching for sand and gravel on the curves... surprisingly clear.

Hit it up to 85 on a stretch...

Round the curve and the damn deer was on top of me, a few feet from the bike... in the opposite lane heading right in front of me... screamed WOOOOOOAAAAAA in my helmet like I do (talk to myself sometimes, too, sometimes I sing).

And Bambi must have heard the pipes right when I spotted her. She casually turned around and went the other way. Now I remember why I avoided riding at twilight last year. :(

I got lucky this time... yeah good thing...

Enjoy Spring in Wisconsin while you can !!!! ;)

Whats the problem with a deer? They are compared to big dogs up this way!!!!!

Wait until you come upon a 1200lb Bull Moose that does not like the sweet sound of the rumble of the V-Twn. Now thats an experience.

Glad you made it out safely, but you could have had dinner to drag home.

Weather Report::::::Damm Snow Again, The snow melts, I ride for a day or so, More snow again.

This is really starting to piss me off.

Ozz, thats one great picture.

Thanx Newfie...

I was just SOOOOO pissed 'cause we got 3" of snow on my birthday, followed by an ice storm. I have ridden then, at least a little, for the last 15 years. This winter has been par-TIC-q-lar-ly crappy, but I'll bet that you have noticed it, too
Just finished my taxes (I hate to wait 'till the last minute) and it's lookin' pretty nice today, so...
GOTTA GO

Tues April 15 10:30 am - unlocked bike and wheeled out of garage to take carefully prepared income tax returns to post office - temp 72°
10:35 am - unlocked right saddle bag and placed carefully prepared income tax returns and insulated shirt inside "just in case" (Buffalo, 'ya know) carefully closed bag making SURE both latches clicked - temp 73°
10:40 am check oil tires belt cleaned mirrors ect. Started bike to warm up engine while donning leather, helmet, and gloves. scarf ect. - temp 74°
10:45 am valve cover warm to touch headed for post office - temp 75°
11:00 am Woo-Hoo!!! - temp 75°
11:15 am Arrived at post office, carefully parked bike in a vain attempt to prevent collecting MORE scratches from careless mouth breathing slack jawed cagers dragging their keys. purses. knapsacks, rakes, shovels, cats, badgers, sticky jam-hands rug rats and other IMDs (implements of motorcycle destruction) over/along/against my bike. Carefully lifted right saddle bag latch which rose smoothly and silently to a completely vertical position leaving bag securely latched with carefully prepared income tax returns STILL INSIDE - temp 76°
12:45 pm At Buell dealer AFTER returning home to check parts book “do you have part number 3789Y?” “no, that is obsolete, its been replaced by (something about 14 digits long, starts with A)” “Well do you have those, then? I need four…” “no, but we can order them…” “While you’re at it can you get me the tool for those security screws?” “It’s not listed” ”Do you know where I can get one?” ”Have you tried Snap-On?” "yes” Left for closest friends house that had tools. - temp 78°
6:30 pm post office – removed carefully prepared income tax returns from left saddle bag as right bag is now held together with bungee cords after skillful application of a succession of fresh Ti drill bits and the snapping off of a wad of small screwdrivers on the security screws retaining the latch mechanism only to find that the actuator is a tiny piece of pot metal ~ 3/32” square and snapped off clean. Mailed f**king taxes. . - temp 54°
7:15 pm bike locked in garage, don’t have the replacement latch I thought I had. What a great day. - temp 52°

Update 16 April – Been calling Buell dealer since they opened an hour and a half ago, phone still busy… forecast says snow tonite.

Brother,

We have had rain, freezing rain and snow now today. Oh well, I guess it is my fault for living so far north.

The MSN server is not working today. Ah well. My day off and I just came in to check the e-mail. Chris, as soon as it starts working again I will send you details on where to meet at Road America... or I will call you at home.

I forgot an important conference call I was supposed to sort of lead too on Thursday for work !!! :( I guess the EPA person took over for me, because we had all that ice on the road and no power for a day or so and I totally spaced out.

Yes yes, I know, I do have 'blonde moments' but I am waaaay too young to call them 'senior moments' yet.

Anyhow, off today again. Going to do my mountains of laundry. I have been playing way too much lately and having way too much fun to be dealing with 'real life'.

Probably go take the bike out for a spin in the snow today anyway!

Charlotte,
I sympathize, nice here sunday, till the wind (40++) kicked in. Rain mon-today-snow tomorrow.
Just hang in there, I'm too lazy to clean salt spray if I ride between showers. April showers clean May roads, or something like that.

Temp is up here again, may go to 50 or so. Wooooo Hoooooooo

Ever since I started posting here I am starting to get good at metric conversions.

Was gonna take the S1 this morning but when I went outside I discovered ICE FOG over everything. Can't ride in that. Maybe after lunch I will take the beloved back.

BEWARE - Charlotte is on the Sheep Rant again - Deep down I think she has something for them.
