any one have an opinion (ya I know) on the best place to buy a buell in/near seattle? I'm planing on getting a 9s hopefully within the next 6 months and I want to buy one from a dealer that is excited about/supports buells. I think they should take them out of the harley dealers and have a seperate "buell only" shop. I know not all of them are this way but when I talk to the sales people (2 different places) I know more than they do just by researching them for a day on the internet.. maybe not quite that bad but you get the idea.

Oh, let me think....

It's starting to come clear, it starts with a vowel. An "E". Yes, it starts with an E! Wait, I'm seeing something else, a clear night sky, a bright light. The moon, that's it, the moon.

What's this? It's silver, it's a bell. What could this mean?

Give me a minute....

OK, I've got it! It's all clear to me now. Yes!

Go see Scott Moon @ Eastside HD in Bellevue. Tell him Ray said "hi". He won't have a clue who Ray is but that's alright.

You'll get a fair deal and that's about the best you can ask for. Fair for you and fair for the dealer too. As always, YAMMV.

Misato, the Moon Unit races Buells, so you know he's enthusiastic about them, and as Ray said will treat you fairly.

last time i was up there, there was also a dealer in Lynnwood (the Cycle Barn), and one in Tacoma (Destination). and if you feel like making the trek south to Portland, OR, there's Latus Motors.

if you're REALLY feeling frisky, take a spin up to Vancouver, BC and visit Deeley's House of Buell.

ask for Stuart Wells (the GM, and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet). Tell him Ray said "hi". He won't have a clue who Ray is but that's alright.

FB :)

the few times I've been to destination I didn't care for them.
I was thinking eastside or downtown. I've been to DHD several times but I'll have to check out eastside.

I bought mine at Eastside. They refer to the Tacoma place as "Desperation" HD. Never been there myself. Ask Scott about the X1 he endo'd after putting dual disks on it. On their race bike. In front of a crowd.

Eastside also has (had?) a large selection of used Buells downstairs.

Deeley has a separate building for their Buells. Really nice shop. I met Erik there back in 99 during their grand opening. Good bunch of guys, but hardly worth buying a bike out of country.

There is also Columbia Harley Davidson/Buell in Vancouver, WA that I have been dealing with for the most part since July. They offer 10% discount to BRAG members. When I was in there last week they had 3 Firebolts and 4 Lightnings.

Service so far has been great too!

Eastside in Bellevue helped me when I was back there on vacation and got tagged from the rear by a pickup. I've heard that Eastside's store in Issaquah is more Harley-focused. Don't know about Downtown Harley, never been to that one, unless I was there 20+ years ago, then I don't remember, but that was pre-Buell for me anyway.

Go to eastside. One of their people, or someone who worked there, used to post on the site here mostly in the Blast section. Eastside also has a nice coffee/espresso shop on the front of it that is, well, uh, just go there and see for yourself.

And definitely say Ray said hello, seems to be the thing to do. ;)

Of course it does, it's in Bellevue. Also, the gal who runs the place is a hottie.

Downtown Harley Davidson (206) 243-5000 has a black XB9S set up and ready. It was the one I almost bought but declined. Spring is buying time for me. Ask for Spencer, but anyone on the sales floor will work.

So hard it was to wait to buy... :(

how much? race kit? I dont know if the kit would be worth it, I think I'd go with the force pipes whenever they come out. I guess I'd still need the ecu and filter.

Misato:

You might want to consider buying the bike with the race kit already installed (yes, it's worth it)!. That way you can finance the whole package. The $700 race kit would add $20 to your monthly paymant (0.09% X 36 months).

Tell that coffee cutie @ Eastside "Hi" from Ray. She doesn't have a clue who Ray is but....

Mike J says: "Don't know about Downtown Harley, never been to that one, unless I was there 20+ years ago, then I don't remember"

I don't know about 20 years ago either but let me take a minute to tell how it was 40 years ago.

In the 60's I used to walk 2 miles from my home on Webster St. & Beacon Ave. to Tomm & Son's Cycles on Empire Way (now Martin Luther King Way) near Othello St. in south Seattle. I would drool on the new Triumph 650cc TT Special's until old man Carmen would throw me out of the store.

"I hear your mother calling" he would say. "I'm going to have money someday" I would say. "Come back when you do" he would say.

Triumph falls on hard times. Carmen Tomm & his son Russ buy a Harley Davidson dealership. They sell lots of bikes. Russ makes some seriously cool custom bikes. They (Russ) change their name to "Downtown Harley Davidson". Carmen retires. They (Russ) move out of "Downtown" Seattle (i.e. Empire Way) to Tuckwilla but keep the name. Very old "kids" from Beacon Hill get back to their roots. Carmen has an 85th birthday. Life is good.

Mistro buys a Buell XB9. Life goes on and the adventure continues.

Mistro - Downtown Harley in Seattle is a great place to get involved with. Honest owner (Russ Tom) and real Buell mechanics who know their stuff. Spencer is selling the XB9S for msrp.

Ray - great stories about Carmen Tom. He was at the CW show with his Jolly Roger bunch, great to talk to him there.

Misato, I would love to sell you a bike but unfortunately because of being north of the border, I cant. I also cannot comment on the Buell dealers in your area, but I can say that what you read here is from the heart. When you purchase your new bike, I would advise you to break it in with the stock configuration. After 800miles install the race kit and you'll notice the difference. Deeley's House of Buell can offer you service, parts & accessories, and you'll even save $$$ with the dollar exchange.

PS I do know who Ray is. He spends way too much time here.
