'99 S3T - Bought new in Aug. 2001 (leftover), have over 12k miles so far. Minor problems. Love the bike, wish there was more aftermarket or Buell accessories for it. Satisfied PS- Waiting to see how Buell is planning on filling the S3T void. |

1998 S1W, 30k miles inspite of several fairly serious problems. Put me down as unsatisfied. Holed rear piston at 19k miles, bad rear wheel at 25kmiles. Dealer was zero as in zip help. Very dealer unsatisfied. |

Dynarider, So you're unsatisfied with the Blast 'cause the aftermarket didn't support it in a timely fashion? Pardon me while I chuckle. I've taken a Blast to 100+, done BattleTrax and burnouts. If your wife needed that much more power, why'd she start with a 500cc single? >I just wish they would treat us owners of the old framers with some sympathy. After your threat to bomb the factory (dropping a bike from a heli should be considered bombing) and personal attacks on Erik I really don't see anyone at Buell caring if you ever rode one again. Oh and I finally met Blake just a few weeks ago and (unlucky for him ) he doesn't look anything like me. (Wait, what was the topic? Oh twi.. er I mean Blake did you count Mariabelen as a satisfied owner?) |

2000 X1, unsatisfied. Bike currently unusable and I have no motivation or inclination to fix a bike that has spent most of the past year off the road. Having had major problems with the gearbox, a continuing breathing problem, a seemingly unfixable leak (breathing related), the engine finally lunched itself. Buy another Buell? Never. HD products? Never. Recommend either? Never, and as a matter of fact would probably actively discourage it. Guess thats an unsatisfied. |

I can't vote, 'cause I can't afford the bike yet. I want to respond, though, 'cause I AM the guy this kind of survey is aimed at. Blake; Thanks for counting by bike. It's a meaningful statistic to me, 'cause otherwise a guy whos had a hundred Buells and been dissatisfied with one, gets marked as "dissastisfied" Dyna; Thanks for counting by owner. That way incredibly satisfied multi-Buell owners can't run away with the survey. Now, can I get someone with way too much time on their hands to break it down by model? |

Ride a Millenium X1--at eight thousand miles she decided to dump tranny fluid from the two long bolts (loose-probably from the knuckleheads at the dealership) as I entered the Blue Ridge Parkway--nearest service three hours away. Aftermarket exhaust (White Bros. E-series) fractured a thousand miles after that with only two thousand on the install--installed Race headers and Can-front bracket fractured--chinfoil bracket fractured twice- uses a quart of oil every 700 hard miles. DEALER makes me wait ten to twelve days for a scheduled service--then puts the bike on hold three days as all those spanky new just bought Harleys get dressed and primped--refuses to honor warranty for any damage caused by White Bros. Unit they RECCOMEND/STOCK/SELL because its aftermarket stuff, over 8000 miles on the beast at high speed. Sure I'm satisfied--but then I ride a '79 Triumph Bonneville all the time (16,000) and that bitch Bonnie makes my new girl Milly seem downright dependable! (Also bought a Blast (2002) for my woman--she loves it).How about another thread: Satisfied/disastisfied with the DEALER service. Are their any good dealers at all or just money-sucking lamprey eels? Bike YEA Dealer NAY. |

2000 M2-new-satisfied. 15000 km. I agree with bubba, I've owned a lot of bikes over the last 30 years, Japanese and British. This is the first American iron I've had. The reliability has been no better and no worse than the Jap bikes I've had. Much better than any of the Britsh ones I owned in my youth. My dealer treated any of my concerns to my satisfaction. I have taken my M2 on several long trips and never had a problem. |

1998 S3: UNSATISFIED! 24K Miles Replaced Top End (Everything New) Replaced Stator Replaced Recall Shock Replaced Forks Tank Bubbles Shattered Inner Fender Trans Dogs worn out in 3rd Replaced Front Brake Rotor Replaced Shifter (leg shattered) Replaced 2 Exhausts Trunk Lock Never Worked Bike was stock except for Mikuni HSR42 and Buell Race Kit. All other mods were cosmetic (chin spoiler, 99 seat, tank paint) Bike cost $11,500 new, $12+ out the door, $8000 in repairs and mods, Sold for $4500 less than 3 years later. 1st year was great. After that a complete nightmare! Dealer sucked. Bike sucked. And now my attitude sucks. |

I love the Bike totals. Its almost as if the higher number of satisfied will somehow just absolve the fact that over 1/3 of the respondants are unsatisfied. Its obvious that if your first Buell is a nitemare, there wont be a 2nd. |

Blake, you are rapidly proving that satisfied Buell owners are more likely to buy another Buell than disatisfied owners. If you want to make the data relevant, find out how many of the disatisfied owners bought other brands of bikes subsequent to their Buell purchase. I have purchased four. Paul |

Brian, Firstly... Aren't you leaving one particularly important detail out of your list? Secondly... This isn't the place to open that can of worms. Thirdly... Would you please explain how you were able to come up with 41%? Snail/Paul, Hey man, this isn't my poll. Goes without saying though... Unhappy customers will shop elsewhere. We don't need specific analysis to prove that, do we? |

"Its obvious that if your first Buell is a nitemare, there wont be a 2nd." Not true. My first Buell was in the shop once a month, every month for the two years I owned it. Its good qualities and potential (and the fact that it was the most enjoyable bike I'd ever ridden) made me go for another. The M2 almost took me to the point on changing brands until I got the upgraded rocker box gaskets and exhaust mount. Since then, it's been pretty much trouble free. And it still feels better than anything else I've ridden. |
