You will need an additional two plain steel plates and one fiber friction plate to eliminate the spring plate. Search the archives where you will find all the info you need.

Would recommend this kit.
All you need to get rid if that spring plate.
I ride this kit in both,my Buellised Sportster
and my 88" Cyclone.

Take my advice, keep stock clutch plates! just remove spring plate. Barnet Energy one & the rest not as good as the stock plates but an extra plate good, just with the extra plate, you have more friction area so can use a lighter spring

How do know that neither Barnett nor Energy one
is as good as stock?

Will any of the options make the clutch lighter/softer?

xdevil i've tested them all, ( not on this Buell ) i have energy one extra plate in my buell now but will go back to stock . as i'm building motor to 88 cubic inch will start in a month. over the years i have tried everything, i've put suzuki clutch into a Harley . have had Bandit machine works super clutch they are one of the best but, just changing clutch plates .stock HD is the best. ( i'm not selling them.

if you add an extra plate, you increase surface area, so that allows you less spring pressure if you want it lighter. i think some of the late sportsters or XB's have a lighter spring. you can also use the VPC with a very light spring. i'll be using a spock clutch extra plate with 88 inch and will drag race it. clutch slip not a bad thing takes shock off driveline helps traction.

Anyway,I'm very happy with my Energy One clutches.
I really don't need a lighter clutch spring and I don't
want clutch burning and performance stealing slip on my 88 "Buell. She is making 150 Nm torque and I want that on the road, not in my friction plates.
But,suum cuique

Xdevil try no slip at all just run fixed drive no clutch see how that feels. you make more power with slip as it keeps your motor up where it is making power. if mine can't hold i'll put a VPC pressure plate that aloe's me to adjust weights and clutch pressure.
what cams are you using with the 88"? & what is the cranking pressure?
have you taken it down quarter mile? if so what trap speeds did you do?
i'm thinking of using the red shift 585/630
i have D&D system woods 43.5 rebel carb
will run flat tops with bath tub
i don't measure my Torque in NM i like Ft pounds!!!

Buellfighter: You cut a section of PVC pipe and place a t-bar across it, then use the threads from the adjuster and a bolt to compress the spring. Do a search, someone posted pictures not too long ago.
