You have an inherent conflict of interest. If it's mis-numbered I know who to blame.

Actually I just carried through what was done with the frames to engines...

Remember the day our "handlers" came from BDC in Milwaukee and had the ceremony to open the new building and celebrate the 1,000th?

I do, indeed. Below is a screenshot from a Buell video (I think the one from the 25th Homecoming dinner).

S2 # 1000 celebration

I wonder if that the cork is still stuck in the ceiling...

P.S. The next time you come across the 1,000th S2 shirts, could you please pull one out for Kevin? I can send you his address or you can send it to me and I'll make sure it gets to him. Thanks in advance!

I have a newspaper article (somewhere) on the openhouse/ribbon cutting for the 2799 building. I remember Gov.Tommy Thompson being part of the ceremony. I think the "1000th" may have been an earlier celebration. Cant remember for sure, but I think the 2799 building was opened in 1997 or 1998.

I think you are right.

Found a pic ..... have to see if I can find one of the shirts with the date.

If I recall ..... we has some sort of shirts when we moved to 2799.

Hey Screamer ...... see what's hiding in the pic?

:-)

I wasn't going to go there originally, but since it's been brought up...

S2 # 1000 shirt:

2799 opening 2

As an interesting aside - something that I obviously forgot - is related to the following pic showing an S3T Defender (and Battle Of Champions bikes) being part of the festivities of the 2799 opening.

2799 opening with Defender

Had Tod not shown up on one of his BOC bikes for the 2015 Homecoming, my buddy wouldn't have dug out his old pics, and this memory would've still been lost to time.

Sorry, didn't mean to highjack...

I think we've pretty well hijacked the thread...
1313 - On the 2799 Celebration photo - Wow, forgot Teerlink was still around, but remember being impressed with Thompson's "Men in Black" bodyguards.
Court - Yep, funny where the yellow shirts pop up. I'll try to find a few magazine articles where seeing the B Bros shirts was a surprise.

Anyway - back to the registry...
I'm not sure how or what I can do, but I'm willing to help (if help is needed) revive the registry.

Teerlink and I had one of the most fascinating discussions that day that changed the way I saw many BUELL challenges and influences my management style to this day.

It was that conversation .... and "Well Made in America" that made me certain he was worth every penny of the millions he made a year.

Smart guy

Ok .... back to registering stuff ...

Im not sure it needs reviving... as i have kept it up to date over the years. I have exchanged many emails with s2 owners who have sold and bought bikes. To me its nice to see some interest in it again! Question is where we go moving forward...
I would like to see how accurate it is...
Every now and then a bike gets added that was not previously on the registry. Mostly I'm swapping names on a bike that has been on since i took over.

Total number of 1995 S2-T's produced = 0

1996 was the only year for S2-T production.

If I recall correctly, off the top of my head, FT was the VIN designation,

That is correct.

I think I have the only "1995 S2T" and it was entirely prototype parts. In fact, I think a number of the pieces I have stashed here somewhere are marked "test" and "proto".

The S2T debuted in 1996 and Brankin is correct, included the FT, as opposed to RT, in the makeup if the VIN.

Well, with my recent semi retirement, I could be interested in taking over the registery I'd have a few questions and I believe this should be public. Just boas names, year and last four digits of vin.
What purpose does a private list provide? Frank and I had this discussion several times and I still don't know why it's not public other than that's what he wanted.
What do you all think?

^^^

I agree on a public list. Just first name, BWB username, year and last four of vin. No need for more than that.

BTW...I picked up #1039 yesterday. I'll post some pics in a different thread.

Okay...a little off topic but not really...

When did Buell issue the signature plates? I'm trying to track them down for my Buells. But may depend on the ownership status at the time the plates were sent. I know on my #835 that it was originally issued to the dealer. Danny (the original owner) thinks he has the plate and certificate in a frame. But he's been unable to find it. I have the contact info for the original owner of #1039. I'll be sending him a letter this week.

Public with no personal info is a good idea to me... I looked back I took over Nov 2010. I counted up 83 changes so far in that time. Wow S2's get around. I'm going to clean up the list and delete the personal info.

I'll contribute if it's public. I just couldn't see the value of adding to a private list.

Scott/Kevin/et all,

Just for fun, and to see how many bikes may still be out there, I’ve been trying to keep track of any S2/S2T info I can find - I started with the old lists published on here, and have been adding any additional info as it popped up in the forum threads. I’ve also been tracking any for-sale bikes (or frames/dismantled bikes) as they show up on the web with VINs. Here’s a “public list” of what I have, with I’m sure plenty of errors.

BTW, I figured out that for the early ’95 S2’s, the 1B9RT VINS had last 4 digits starting with 3 (obviously there weren’t 3000 units in ’95), but build dates show they fit within the 4MZRT VINs where their last 4 digits start with 0 or 1, so they’re listed accordingly per last 3 digits. Make sense?
