Anybody knows the exact thread size of the lefthand flywheel nut or the engine sprocket. Trying to restore the left threads from my flywheelso I need a thread cutter. Any help appreciated thanks PS if you have a complete 98/99 crankshaft or sale please contact me |

Basti, I've got crank and rods assembly from a 2000 S3. Should be a drop in, but it has the larger crank pin. Kevin |

Hi Kevin thanks for the offer but unfortunately the Crank from 2000 on will not fit 91-99 engines as Buell / HD has changed not only the crank but also the oil flow/ routings in the cases. Therefore 2000 up cases and cranks are different rom the older bikes. Thanks |

Wouldn't it be better to thread cut it on a lathe than to use a die ?Way better quality of threads and no need to buy an expansive left hand imperial die. |

Btw.It's easy to get the thread size by using a thread gauge and a caliper. |

"but unfortunately the Crank from 2000 on will not fit 91-99 engines" That is incorrect. All you need to do is mill 60 thou (inches) off the inside of the cases on the pinion shaft side and a newer crank will work perfectly in 91-99 engines. (Message edited by buelliedan on December 17, 2015) |
