I actually have my 61 tuber pulley at the shop having it welded and redrilled etc mine has the XB wheel and swingarm but need to use the tuber pulley. I was just curious on the pattern as I have both also | ||

A okay ,but this is what i measured!, Tuber pulley bolt hole spacing = 48.84mm xb pulley bolt hole spacing =47.77mm (these bolt holes are a bit conical) The thing i did not check is if the pulley hearts are at the same depth? If you want to use the xb pulley on your tuber ,you could try a uly belt maybe that gives it just enough length!? | ||

Belt is easy many guys do the xb wheel conversion so find out what belt they use! The depth is my next adventure to make sure belt alignment is correct. Joesbuell had to make small shim so I am anticipating a diffrence. | ||

There are plenty of pulleys out there that have the right bolt pattern and the right number of teeth, but beware that there are also different offsets (i.e. mounting surface to belt centerline). I got one once that was really nice, machined the hole bigger, only to find that the offset was wrong. Al | ||

Also, there were billet Joker pulleys available for Buells once upon a time. They looked great. But the tooth hardening sucked, and the belt would sharpen the teeth until they cut into the belt. They didn't last 10k miles before they were worthless and you had a broken belt. Al | ||

Al I've heard about the bad tooth hardening from rizoma pulleys. They looked great,but useless. I know a couple of buell owners who did own such a pulley and got a refund. I own 2 original billet buell pulleys and both are in good condition.never heard something bad about them. "original billet buell pulleys" Does that mean factory? Like the Shark-Tooth one that matched the PM wheels? Or if not, who is the maker? | ||

Yes like the shark -tooth one. I own a shark tooth pulley and the other has the same design as the pm wheels Should still have the original box with buell part number from one . Roy | ||

The Shark tooth one was certainly Buell.I have one, and it's teeth have held up well. I'm not aware that Buell made a pulley that looks like the PM wheels, but ONE of the Joker pulleys did look just like the slotted PM wheels. If you have one of those and can't confirm it's origin, I would suspect that it is a Joker pulley. If yes, I wouldn't recommend using it unless you get the teeth hardened. | ||

Al by chance could you provide the back spacing, center diameter and bolt pattern for an XB rim. And the same for a tuber? | ||

al you are right about the "pm style" pulley.i think it is the joker pulley you mentioned.compared them today. never knew it was different from the shark tooth pulley,but when i checked them today i noticed the difference. you should see the difference between the teeth,they have really sharp edges compared to the oem buell shark tooth pulley and i`m sure it will cut the belt in time . i am rebuilding the buell which had this pulley and i am going to check if i can adjust this pulley so it woun`t cut the belt.  | ||

one of my tubers has a xb wheel with a tuber pulley. didn`t modify the pulley myself (fellow bueller did ). i asked him why he didn`t use a xb pulley on the s1 this wheel came from. he told me he didn`t like how the s1 rides with a xb pulley. might be a personal thing. he also told me the belt didn`t always stay at its place. | ||

That is pretty handy! The back side has some casting sprue stuff that can be cut out, did you do anything to the back? Also, how about this ring cut into the outer circumference?  | ||

No, i didnt removing anything off the back but thats not a huge deal. It just depends how much of the OEM finish you want to disturb. Im going to strip this one, powdercoat it, then re-machine the pockets and chamfer to remove the powder, machine a ring, and then clear it to seal it all up. Then make it into a clock- A ring or dimpling is also no big deal. $80 plus return shipping to do the basic cut as shown | ||
