If it's the triangular aluminum one, sort of thin, I have one in the garage. I'll try to get a picture of it.

Sounds like an S2 tank, but you never know.

THX Jayvee. The S1 tank is unique, is this an S1 tank?

My 96S1 has 95,000 miles and is now a backup for my 09 1125CR. I am looking for a used one preferably as I don't really want to spend too much on such a high mile bike.

OK, found a poor picture in the online S1 manual. Looks like plastic, similar to M2. I misunderstood, sorry.
You want an 'accessory' part, like American Sport Bike sells, but cheaper (such as used.)
Couple of folks got lucky like that. Maybe two, out of many looking. Welcome to the club!
