If you want to drag race a buell stay far far far far far far away from fuel injected. Unless your not going to do any mods and just run consistent passes, but then the need for speed will kick in and you will do mods and the bike wont go down the track cause of the fuel injection crap. Just my two cents some would disagree. |

I don't think it matters. S1's seem to be more prevalent at AHDRA events. If he wants to build a big motor (above 100 inches) an S2 might be easiest because of the way the rear engine mounts are built. The cheap way to go is a frame or roller off of Ebay from a chopper project. |

used to see alot of s-3's doing it. and a dude bought my old chassis for that, it was 98 s-3. maybe because of the fairing to get behind? |

If he might be interested I've got an early M2 frame with a 6" over square tube swingarm and standard mounting block. Looking for $150.00, no title, bill of sale. Plus shipping. Kevin |

Re: extended swingarms, I knew a guy who drag-raced his S2. It was also his daily rider, so he made a set of extenders for his box-section swingarm. They were rectangular, same dimension as the outside of the swingarm, but with a section at the front, maybe 3 or 4 inches long, that was reduced so it would fit inside the swingarm when the axle carriers were pulled out. He ran a chain drive so he could get ready for the drags by removing his rear wheel, pulling the axle carriers, inserting the swing arm extenders and putting on a longer chain. The setup saved a lot of work. rt |

Not as fast as Mr. Arana, lol. Been having problems all year, hopefully I just fixed that. I have ran high 10's and that's it. This year I havnt ran much on the 1/4 mile been going to the local 1/8 mile for test and tune to get the bike right (blew it up first run of the season back in march). If all goes well I hope to make it to the AHDRA @ Bristol in 2 weeks. |
