I have been watching the weather all week.. the rain chances have been dropping almost everyday from 60% now to 30-40%...that sounds like a nice refreshing short to no shower. The Frio river is cold as shit year around so brace yourself and with the wet winter we had it should be flowing good. see ya'll friday

Well I sure hope you all have a great time and good riding. Wish I was there.

Eric- I was trying to figure out the photo of the timing cover. Did you color the chrome lettering or is it just reflecting black?

Shane it is reflection. It is hard to take a picture of those suckers...

I am at the intersection of 83 and I 10... I did not intend to go this far but when I was in Abilene I stopped at a camp ground and it was camper only, the lady told me I could tent camp if I go back three miles but I decided I would find something on 153... I was wrong. I was in Texas in 1981 for recruit training and have been to San Antonio TDY many times but I never notice that Texas does not believe in rest stops. I peed in a bottle a couple of times today. There is nothing on 153 and 83...

Anyway, after talking to Lynn I knew I needed to find some place to rest but the only motel on 83 did not look that great. I stopped at another RV park and NO TENT camping... Bastards... I do not get my camper till June, damn it....

So. I am in another dive motel sweating like a farm animal because it is still 80 degrees... To think, I was wearing a sweat shirt because it was 30 and raining when I left Colorado.

I was moving along at 75 or 80 (in the truck with an enclosed trailer) and watched my gas go down. I figured 9 miles a gallon. I backed off and at 67 she was back to normal. (as normal as a Ford F250 Diesel truck is, I guess.

How do you tell what direction your going. There are no mountains...

What is up with 70mph on back roads... LOL

Some how I got ahead of Eric and Jaci and they should be in Abilene with Ross by now...

I will be at Leakey early but I will have coffee and screw around here to make my arrive time around 10 or 11..

Hey if anybody that is 4 wheeling it to Leaky, and would be able to pick up a six pack or so of Budlight It would be greatly appreciated. I don't know whether or not I we'll have room in the bags. Looking forward to meeting some new Buellers, and seeing some of the locals. See everyone tomorrow around 2-3.

We waited out the rain until about 9:30 this morning and headed west away from the front then started working our way south and west. We stayed out of run until about the last 45 miles. We are in Wichita Falls, TX for the night. We are roughing it at the Hampton Inn. We road 550 miles today and looks like an easy 350 tomorrow in the rain?????

How big are the S2 fuel tank?

Well...........Made it from Tucson to Fort Stockton..................(love all the FORT towns in Texas)........had to stop and "fix/adjust" the S2 a couple of times and then put on rain gear 1/2 hour out of Fort Stockton.

Good ole Midwest rain...hugh drops and light up the sky lighting..........nice and warm though.

Anyone know about 285 to 90 south??? Looks like it has some turns......10 is pretty boring.

Frank.................your getting close!!

Ride safe....Jack

Ross here, in Snyder with Eric and Jaci. They got here about 9/9:30; I got here at Midnight:30. I had to get my shock from Jorge's shop and pack my gear before I could head out.

Frank,
Looks like you'll beat me there then. Denny should be there fairly early (around noon, I think). We'll be there around 1:00 I'll bet, the way things are going. Man, I am woefully unprepared for this event! ; )

Jay

P.S. It's gonna be a hoot!

Jay, I do not know but I think your right. I slept in later than I have in a while. It is 6 15 Colorado time... Wow, I must had been beat since I am up at 4 30 every morning....

Time for a shower and to secure some coffee.... I will look for bud light and ice soon as well.

It is raining here but I think I like Texas rain... It is WARM... Unlike Colorado where if it is rain the temps are dropping.

Texas, where the bugs are big and the birds are fat...

Ross, please be careful, about 7 miles North of Winters the road has chunks out of it filled with big gravel... It is right in the good line.

The road will have a lazy curve and suggested speed of 55mph. (7 miles before Winters).. Watch out... There is more through out Winters but so far it is good after that...

Wow, Jack, you passed us somewhere along the way.
We stopped in Elpaso, at Barnetts to snag some of their Buell stuff, it's all marked 75% off. I saw 5 '08 1125R's the flor, along with an '06 XB12X, (barricade orange), and an M2.
We got a boatload of Buell shirts for $10, and some hats, and deb picked up a sweatshirt for $20.
I think I will have to stop by on my way back to Phoenix, LOL

Blks1, I've got a 30 pack of bud light, we are in Van Horn at the moment, and getting ready to leave, I'll check and see if I can buy booze, and if so, will snag you a sixxer.

Frank, it's easy to know where you are going out here, the road never turns! I think I've seen maybe 3 curves since I went through Tucson.
See ya in a few hours!

Jack: 285 is a good road. It's where they run the Big Bend Open Road Race.

Dean: I'll have some Texas beer in the truck.

I'm getting on the road in an hour or do, should be in Leakey early afternoon. Unless I blow my Suburban up, too...

Guys, it sounds like a great time will be had in Texas. I wish I could have tried to be there. Frank is aware of my situation here that is keeping me away. Cathy is in Hospice now and the end is near. Maybe next year. I'm going to need the therapy.
Be safe, have fun. Don't mess with the armadillos!

Hey guys,,, I be here... The cabins are before you get in town off to the LEFT. 83 has 5 miles of loose gravel. I recommend you take 41 west and snake down to Leakey...

Raining cats and dogs right now... Watch the roads.. I lot of animals and water build up....

I have no phone service..

KmBuell you will be able to join us one time so do not fret. I hope this deal keeps going for years to come.

UP of MI next year and hopefully someone will step up to the plate for 2012... Any East Coast guys want that one?

Frank

Hey, thanks for the updates! Im looking forward to joining up with you guys.....Im riding my 2000 X-1 up from Austin.

Remember, take it easy in and around the Leaky area. The 3 sisters are getting a reputation for sport bikes and HDs flocking to the area. Unfortunately two riders did not make it out of those hills recently, so the DPS may be focusing on that area more.

Ride safe!

Nice pictures Jack!
Here's what I've got so far...

This is what we saw out our back door when we got here:

The beer started flowing, and RoadThing started with the story telling:

Denny worked on his newest acquisition:

More beers, and a few mixed drinks, and Brad for some reason, was starting to look pretty dang good!

Eric and Jaci showed up:

The HellBuellies put out some good chow for us all...

Even Brad got some:

More storytelling ensued:

Eric poses by Jays Buell Banner:

Denny goofs off behind Brads back

Frank and his big ceegar, and Ross surfing for porn

We put Brad on a pedestal, surrounded by Lemon Margerita's

A campfire was lit, and we started to party around the fire

Brad, had a little bit too much to drink, but didn't seem to mind crashing out next to someone elses bike

Lynn, had we known you would not attend, we would have brought a picture of you also.
Oh the things Debbie could have come up with. ; ) Miss you, and wish you were here!!!

We've been having a great time, these Texans know how to put on a good party!
Brad, we really miss you, and wish you were here, as you can see, we are still having a good time partying with you. ; )
Just wait and see what we cook up for you tomorrow!
