It seems to start easier but with the 88" installed at the same time I have nothing to compare it to. With that said just the linear operation of the HSR makes it work for me. Now I need a throttle with about 15% less throw and I will be set. Are you running the stock 27/61 if so check out a 26 tooth lightened sprocket. I think it will get you what you are looking for.

Do they offer different sized sprockets for inside the Primary cover? I thought that was just one standard size? If there is a reduction that can be done there, I would be interestd in that for my tuber.

YES It was like $4500 as a zippers kit also added piston squirter's, push rod bases, roller rockers and some other things. Here is how I would look at this. If I have to do a top end job drop in the 1250, upgraded heads and cams, less than half the cost of the 88". But if you need to split the cases and have the resources by all means get it tune for torque on the 2s and 3s but for the 1s and Rs I would opt out for the hp version. How ever that is subject to change after I experiment with a 100" or better motor. Whats up with the speedometer? Let me know what info you need.

I made my own Stenzel type bracket and I'm very happy with it: ) It seems to have reduced the vibrations somewhat: )

Cheers

The speedometer does not go through the ECM. I don't think i have a picture of the complete bike in running condition, guess I should do that before I alter that state. I believe it's like yours blue on blue with marchisini(sp) wheels the same colour. I think the stenzel has hit the root cause of the failures on the head mount. I will be installing at a later time.

ignition switch relocation...i got tired of fishing for my keys everytime i started my bike...so i just happen to a have an ignition switch from a roadking...i can lock it if i want, or just turn the knob if i want...its just a mock-up at this point...it fits where the pesky clock went, with a bit of rigging..i will plug the original ignition hole when im done...

i went to get some exhaust gaskets for my race pipe today... i asked for the SE variety and he handed me some regular gaskets and told me they were the same...if i remember correctly, the SE gasket were smaller than standard...i guess thely will seal ok on a stock head...

The SE variety will not work for the race pipe and the stock ones will not work with a pipe that has a flat mating surface to the head. If you are running a Buell race header, you will need the stock gaskets. They're tapered. BR.

thanks for the info... i see that someone had used the skinny SE gaskets to install the race pipe and thats prolly why they were leaking so bad before..

Need to swap the speedo and tach.

Not necessarily. I'm sure some probably won't believe this, but this is a morsel from my memory bank. The standard S3 had the tach in the center position and the speedo to the left, while the S3-T had the speedo in the center position and the tach to the left. The thinking behind this was because that a 'touring rider' on an S3-T would be more concerned about vehicle speed, while the 'sporting rider' on an S3 would be more concerned about engine speed. Not sure what the 'proper' configuration was for the times that the S3-T was not an official model, but this is how it was done 'in the beginning' of the S3/S3-T (1997).

my biggest problem so far, is that its hard to get the parts.. if you are doing a mod, everything goes to hell... i just bought a choke cable for the cv carb and im pretty sure its wrong... i think it should have an elbow at the carb and this ones straight...so, im thinking that if i just leave off the choke cable i can run without a choke altogether.. living in the south, maybe not a problem... i have wasted a lot of money, getting wrong parts.. thats one reason that im writing this thread, as maybe it will save the next guy money that trys this...

you [most probably] cannot get by without the choke

take no shortcuts!

you're doing great work - don't relent, keep making good decisions......

ok, im good again.. it seems the elbow is a separate piece, so ill order one and be on to the next.. next problem, is to figure out how to route the fuel filter... the petcock in the carb tank is in a different place than the efi tank... this makes routing the fuel line a mystery... ill get out my M-2 manual and see how they do it on that model..

I bought my 99 S3 and the speedometer was dead center that was the first modification I made. Tour or not speed is secondary to the environment around.
