I won an E-Bay auction chin fairing to mount on the M2. I see where the back ends of both sides attach, but what is needed to support the front?

Also, I've got a Banke shifter. Anyone have a slick setup for the forward most of the two rear bolts on the left or do I just need to find a couple inch longer case/shifter mount bolt and use a spacer?

Thanks

Look in a parts book for the X1 and get the longer bolts and bracket for the front, also spacers.........Charlie

quite a few spacers and brackets are necessary to mount the fairing. i have one mounted on mine. You need a small pressed steel bit for the front right side as well as a different spacer configuration for the left. I am sure that American Sport Bike sells a mounting kit.

If you got a Banke shifter, does it have the X1 mounting block? That one has a built-in bracket to hold the chin fairing, and uses the Banke bolts.

So you only need sort of half the American Sport Bike kit, might be cheaper to just buy the pieces you need, instead; the are listed by part number, on this site somewhere. The dealer either has them or can get them, I just installed the chin fairing on mine last week.

Just looked at the Banke website, no such luck having the X1 mounting block. Guess if I can be non-invisible at the dealer (I think they can smell that you're on a Buell), maybe I can sweet talk them into looking at the X1 parts book.

Thanks all!

If you need I can dig up all the part numbers for it, I just bought all the hardware from the stealer a few weeks ago, they looked it up no problem, just make sure you get a list from an '01 x1, the front bracket is different on pre '01 due to the shock recall.

well, I don't know, I took a copy of the X1 manual and they ordered the list of parts, but it turned out, because of my Banke shifter being in the way, the most expensive well-nut and bolt were not needed.
These two little pieces from the X1 parts book were $21.

When I got Banke shifter for my M2, I specified the X1-style mounting block because I knew I would be putting a chin fairing on it.
The X1 mounting block is probably a lot by itself, likely be much cheaper to just rig something up. Just make sure you need it before you order a $20 well-nut.
My parts counter guy was not real up on Buells, which didn't help.
