Which reminds me of an Alien invasion novel where the Aliens misread our culture, and assumed the big cities were the Masters and the countryside was servant class. They killed most of the lawyers and bureaucrats and then got a big surprise. Not a scenario I want to experience, mind you, but amusing in a book. | ||

I agree, Puget Sound, the Navel Yard would certainly be a target. A big one, a priority even. That said I don't think it would be the Very First Target as Tp suggested it might be. And since we are playing Nuclear War Games... Any Nuclear Attack by Russia directly on the Continental U.S. plus Hawaii would be a massive one I'd think. Multiple targets, not one target only. Now a strategic battlefield Nuc deployed by Russia against Ukraine, in which there are collateral U.S. losses, that is a more probable possibility. Let's all pray that doesn't happen. | ||

It seems many millions were stolen and "donated" to the Biden* Party by the now bankrupt company. The donations/bribes aren't in question. Who's Money was used, is. ( the answer seems to be, everyone who lost everything, except maybe SBF ) Money laundering through Ukraine? That's debatable, as Ukraine says they did cash in crypto currency donations from the many donations private citizens around the world gave to help. Why they used FTX may be the subject of investigation, but "Joe* blackmailed Ukraine, Again" is my first guess/bet. So I also bet that won't get mentioned on MSNBC. | ||

Almost never mentioned in history books about WW2 are the inadvertent casualties caused by anti aircraft artillery on the people they defend. You shoot something up, and unless it's out of the atmosphere and going Mach 25+ sideways, it comes back down. The sole exception I know of is the "manhole cover" above an underground nuclear test that breached the containment seals, that went up, and never came back. The high speed camera film showed it achieved planetary escape velocity, and is now in a Solar orbit. Berlin, London, Yokahama, all suffered from a rain of metal, often with high explosive inside, descending at terminal velocity from high altitude. Current speculation is the unfortunate folk in Poland were killed by a falling, expended, anti aircraft missile fired to try to stop the indiscriminate terror attacks by Putin's forces on innocent civilians. Pray for the families, and the souls of the misguided. | ||

They fear escalation, aka Putin deciding to missile attack Them. But I noticed the Sea King ASW helicopters Britain is disposing of to Ukraine. That's a Very Capable ship killer, albeit focused on submarines. Subs are just ships that hide better. A Sea King has sonar & radar to detect and pinpoint enemy targets, ships specifically, and can drop torpedoes that can kill any ship, as well as send targeting info back to base. ( base in "normal" British use may be a missile equipped ship. ) Targets can be enemy ships or incoming missiles. The helicopters have the role as sensor as well as weapons platforms. I doubt the Brits will give the Ukrainians modern torpedoes to go with the helicopters. That's a potential escalation.. I'd sure sink everything in the Russian Black Sea Fleet if I was Ukraine. And I'm sure Turkey would not mind a bit if they had that threat removed. Torpedoes are expensive and complex, miniature high powered submarines. But the speedboat drones the Ukrainians are making are better for targets in ports and at sea on the surface on a bang for the buck basis. I see no reason a long range helicopter with modern sensors and jamming gear ( designed to protect the helicopter and the ships it guards ) can't drop sea drones. Heck, they're using fishing boats now. Going to be a very deadly winter. | ||

Which again leads me to the conclusion you have no idea what is really going on there and you are soaked with fake news and fake propaganda. | ||

No, I'm aware of the treaties, but... Yep, in that comment, I'm playing armchair general and I'm full of it.  I'd also like an orbital kinetic capability and try decapitation strikes, as a strategy for world domination. If I was King. But I don't actually want the job. I'm hoping for a peaceful resolution and and end to conflict. I tend Jacksonian in my attitude on fighting, which begins with "Don't pick a fight". |
