Interesting, but a bit dated. I presume they've started production since? Or are they simply building outside of the USA? (The "Great American Motorcycle"....)

I just saw that date . . , funny, I’d heard about on the news this morning, searched and found that article.

https://www.fox43.com/article/news/local/york-coun ty/harley-davidson-suspends-production-york-county -factory-motorcycle/521-2b764e5b-ba4a-44b1-8f4b-78 b9322b3915

Looks like just York . . . Nonetheless . . . Equally alarming considering what a major part York production contributes.

I’d damn sure hate to be relying on selling Harley-Davidsons at present.

Too bad the stock is taking a hit for the company not wanting to ship defective motorcycles.

A Badwebber who works for an auto component supplier explained some of the intricacies in these sorts of problems a few years ago. It has to be a nightmare for manufacturers.

Does the supplier know there’s really a problem with the parts or do they just just suspect one? They have to gauge the risk and then decide whether to inform Harley or not. If you’re Harley, do you keep building bikes with the suspect component and risk having to do a recall later, or do you pause production and take the hit now?

Sleepless nights for a lot of people, I imagine.
