As a classic liberal I agree with the first sentence. It's Regressives that yearn for the days of Aristocracy, with, of course, themselves as Kings. So they terrorize and murder as a matter of imposing their Will. Don't understand the meaning of, or relation to, the first sentence by the second. I and my friend, ( who was studying under the same Sifu ) interrupted a violent robbery of an elderly store owner, who was being brutally beaten. We stopped the robbery and held the perp for the police. There were some amusing aspects if you want a true comedy tale, but the Bad Cops part... We were awarded a commendation. Nice. But didn't know about it for 2 years. Instead of the diner and ceremony, the framed awards were shoved into the back of the Captain's desk, until he was replaced, and the new Captain was going through the desk. We didn't get the dinner or public recognition, because the Chief who signed the awards had been convicted of corruption, and as the Captain told us, "I don't think they'd let Gordie (the Chief ) out of prison to hand these to you" and to avoid embarrassment... So I have an actual hero award, and the story behind it is weirder than the action that earned it. Enough bragging. In George Soros owned DA areas, where crimes aren't prosecuted, the crime rate is deliberate. When a city council votes to make robbery an un-crime, as long as it's under an arbitrary high amount, and Not Them, that's Deliberate. If your system is run by Wolves, the Sheepdogs can't function. And just like in the U.S. Military, the good ones are cast out for not going along with the corruption. In many places now, you're on your own. | ||

We expect that of Chinese bureaucrats. And "everyone knows", in China, at least, that the Executed somehow displeased the Glorious Leader. But no one says it aloud. As the above editorial says, when you rule like that, the only people left around you all agree with you and tell you what you want to hear, regardless of reality. That can result in really bad decisions, especially if you have other powerful people influencing the minions. That isn't unique to distant lands. Bill Clinton fired a swath of the Justice system to install his own ringers. ( that would never charge or convict him & his friends ) Trump didn't, wasn't able to, purge the Swamp, it's deeply entrenched and hard to change. We see how powerful a weapon against their Enemies having the Prosecutors and Judges in your ideology/cult of personality/Party is, in cities across the country. People get away with literally murder, or are imprisoned without bail for taking a selfie, depending upon Party & Narative. I'm not really comparing Joe* to Xi. That's absurd. But the echo chamber of advisors problem is similar. Bad decisions get made.
