Yeah. Unbelievable that it went to trial. The prosecution went the way of sleazy attorney with character assassination and propagandist narratives as their basis for the case. That was really bizarre. Even more bizarre is the people rooting for the murderous mob while calling the person defending himself a murderer. At least there is some sense in the world, yet.

He had a "weapon of war" illegally He went there specifically to murder people You're not supposed to defend yourself with an AR-15 He was there only to make trouble at a peaceful protest. So are all the medics and firefighters who go try and save lives at a riot. I'm not going to any riots. I get enough unwanted first aid practice at automobile and motorcycle accidents I'm an ongoing blooming idiot for stopping at. I've lost track of the crashes I helped at until the ambulance arrived and I could go back to work. Pretty sure it's under two a year for the 27 years I worked the streets. And 2 house fires. No sane person wants to go to a riot. I'm also a horrible choice to man barricades against rioters, and you won't see me there either. It's likely that the nice Boy Scout who offered free labor and first aid to the victims of the Party Riots would have been murdered when he was attacked by the arsonist who's fire he put out if he'd been unarmed. I agree he shouldn't have been near there. He also shouldn't have felt the need, there shouldn't be Sponsored, organized, riots, in the service of rich evil men, either. But that last is a long time problem that dates back to before steam power. Well documented in ancient Greece and anywhere modern Marxist cults exist. And in many cases the local and national politicians of that Ideology aid and protect the rioters. Here. In America. Today. | ||

Court, we can agree that it's common sense not to go to riots. But I'm not an EMT, just a first responder. ( that's not Capitalized since I'm not a professional, just paid out of pocket for the courses. ) I got started on that part time avocation when I started Hang Gliding and First Aid might be needed. It was, occasionally. Then skydiving. Unfortunately there My skills were useless the first time I ran up to an impact site. But I got training from the great folk that volunteer at Watkins Glen for races. Pittsford ambulance company. Balls of steel and better men ( & women ) than me. ( Trauma & scene assessment ) 20+ years doing first aid in the SCA at events isn't the same as going to a riot. Actually that's just morally different. I'm expected/accepted as part of an organized activity. Not the same as street help for strangers. Which I also do as needed if I'm there. Good Samaritan Laws vary from state to state, but I try & stay in legal and rational bounds. My experience is actually quite relevant to riot first aid. Trampling, mass weapon injuries, heat stroke, I've even stood over an injured person and pushed others away in a scrum. So, yeah, it was bad judgement to go try to help innocent victims of evil religious zealots and paid professional rioters in your home town. I don't ever plan to put myself at risk in such a manner. But if your opinion is shaped by the wretched scum like the ass DA who said you should just take a beating ( and accept that you may well be murdered,) then you're not getting an undistorted view. | ||

Ultimately there's a public agenda to portray rioters as plucky heroes and innocent victims of an evil white supremacist. I don't care who you are. That's bull. It's a pretty clear cut case of self defense whether you think he should have been there or not. They're trying to make it about the gun and about the cause...portraying so called "anti racists" and "anti fascists," who are the real racists and fascists...as innocent bystanders while they run amok. Screw that. Facts matter. The fake causes of socialist and communist radicals should be quashed instead of excusing their ridiculous uprisings. I think it's interesting that all of those folks shot were ex cons. Seems to be a theme with that. The college kids are loud but mostly harmless. I've picked a side. It's with the conservative and libertarians. The socialists consider themselves moderates these days and the communists are accepted as allies. There's something fundamentally wrong with that. Ultimately, I'm not giving up my rights. I don't care what the agenda is. |
