That's not to even mention that the common ".22 caliber" he refers to is the common .22 Long Rifle (.22 LR) and similar rimfilre cartridges. Those cartriges use the exact same caliber bullet as the .223 Remington and 5.56x45mm NATO cartridges. They are all the same physical caliber (diameter).

As most of y'all know, you can literally turn an existing .223/5.56x45mm AR15 into a .22 LR with a simple conversion kit, same gun, meaning same exact barrel and receivers, just different bolt, buffer, and magazine assemblies is all. Kits are cheap, around $200. So his thinking that the .223 is a larger caliber than the common ".22" is also AMAZINGLY ignorant.

Kinda cool . . . having Biden at the helm is akin to owning a large magnet after inadvertently tipping over a bottle of iron filings.

He has demonstrated a capacity to corral idiots, losers and faux experts into one place. . . . 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

My favorite remains the day that Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Nicholas Mayorkas stood there at the podium in Texas . . . .assuring me that the "border is secure" as no less that 3 dozen illegals, holding their clothing over their heads were fording the Rio Grande, illegally entering the country. I'm sure, by now, they all have scholarships and are rolling in stimulus money and refusing to take jobs and loose their benefits.

The entire team brings back memories of Baghdad Bob.

Speaking of idiots at the white house, this came in the mail this morning.

They don't know how to use an apostrophe. Well, in this case, how to not use an apostrophe.

A somewhat common mistake, and it wouldn't have phased me if it weren't on official white house stationary. Pretty sure we can do better.

the C&Arsenal crew is doing reproduction black powder guns. Great hobby, and affordable... as opposed to shooting antique originals.

The famed Walker Colt, ( originally a thousand gun contract, plus a few hundred, and that's It. ) is the subject of the latest video. At the end, they show a joke where Othias is at Rock Island Auction and they had a Company E, #120 Original Walker. He points out how valuable it is then swaps it for an Uberti replica in it's box. Just a joke, and the Original sold for over a Million $$$$. So they caution, don't throw away an old Colt you find in the closet, It might be worth several planks of wood.

I'm selling more guns. Handguns this time. The less evil devices, the better Anything redundant, impractical, or boring.

I'm seriously considering getting rid of a couple 357 Magnums (a stainless K and J frame) and replacing them with one 38 Special that is as light as the J frame and holds six rounds.

It is ugly though, even with fancy grips

I'm thinking it would make a good woods/hiking gun. So far I'm rarely taking my K frame anywhere and usually pick the 1911 in 45ACP instead. The J frame I like but even with double hearing protection that thing is obnoxious.

My Springfield lightweight 1911 in 9mm I really like, and carry a lot...I just almost never shoot it and it is ammo picky (no steel case, reloaded, or remanufactured ammo...just as it says in the instructions).

My VP9 I carry a lot, but it's boring to shoot. Maybe it's too easy? It's also bulkier than it needs to be.

I'm considering getting rid of my nightstand gun, a CZ 40-P. It's not worth much, but I rarely do anything with it and it eats springs regularly. Whatever is on my hip that day ends up in the nightstand, anyway.

My P80 Glock and full sized 1911 aren't going anywhere...those are "built, not bought," as they say. Nor is my Beretta 92...that's just a classic and a great shooter. My Airweights are great pocket and ankle guns and capable shooters.

I've resolved that anything I've accumulated during my marriage will pretty much be sold off, and that's okay.

My dedicated "night stand gun" is a Ruger 7.5" Super RedHawk, loaded with 300 grn. JHP in 454 Casull. By that time, I am pulling out the stops and looking for resolution.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like your snub nose. My daily in summer is a Sig P938. I should be adding a new toy next month. A 1911 in 22 TCM, DOuble stack 18 + 1. Comes with a 9mm barrel and spring to swap out. It is part of a deal a guy and I worked out before Christmas.

I need to check GALL's about getting a new cover for my vest.

Heres a low cost .357 for the fireball lovers:

Those Rossi's aren't bad. Even the grip is nice. I'll probably just stick the Beretta 92 in the night stand. It is just a backup to a backup, anyway.

This one is on it's second grip. I do like the factory grips they came with.

Rick, any Bodyguards or other J frames on your for sale list? ( alloy Bodyguards ( shrouded hammer ) are hard to find locally )

My bet is every X frame .460 Magnum I see used at the store indicates that almost every one sold is returned. I've seen the same .500 S&W magnum at the same store 3 times. ( may have been more, last year was bad for shopping )

I'm not mocking the buyers, I remember the same thing after Dirty Harry came out with .44s in the used case. It's simple buyer's remorse. And a sore wrist?

None.

The Airweights I carry a lot...plus they have so much carry wear that they're pretty much non saleable.

One of my coworkers suggests that I wait for a new Colt Cobra. That's a fancy gun...and I don't need my hiking gun to be fancy.

My next door neighbor got a .500 S&W and I shot it once.
Not as bad as a TC Contender in .270 but still violent.
Turned a cinder block into dust.

I carry a .22WM and a .380 Bodyguard and a dozen knives.
Not as effective as a .500 but better than a big stick.

Stay situationally aware

Since at least the 1970s, a gun store total cliche that I've seen repeatedly, is the "Used, only fired 6(5)(once) times, with remaining partial box of ammo, Magnum". Usually a .44 S&W Magnum, but Airweights too, & after the X-frame came out, those too. : )

It's a little reminiscent of the S&W model 12...a good concept although in practice half the ones I've come across have had broken frames.

I'm reluctant to get a new Colt Cobra...as many of the classic Detective Specials and variants have been found to be out of time.

Taurus and Rock Island Armory make some okay snubbies...though I wouldn't personally own them.

The Colt Cobra supposedly isn't the old lockwork that is notoriously fragile.

Carry wear isn't a problem with me, I'm looking for an excuse to refinish a J frame in... https://www.guncandy.com/collections/all-colors/pr oducts/eros

You know, to make it easier to see if I drop it in the grass.

As far as I can tell, it's only been redesigned so that only the hand requires fitting. They also redesigned the mainspring for a more linear trigger pull. That doesn't inspire confidence.

It isn't a problem for me, either...as it ensures that I'll keep a gun forever.

Interesting choice

Selling that 9mm 1911 is tough, as I love the design...cone style barrel, integral ramp, reverse spring plug, dual stage guide rod, lightweight frame. It's the ultimate evolution of the design...but the magazines proved fussy and the gun was my most ammo picky...both things I don't have time for.

My CZ in 40S&W served me well, though it ate magazine and recoil springs regularly and was very unsmooth shooting.

I will no longer have any 357 Magnums.

I will no longer have a 40S&W.

I will have a couple less 9mm handguns.

It's kind of nice having less guns to care for.

There was a New York Colors thing a while back because the Trillionaire Communist Mayor freaked about black guns and some imaginary supervillain might use a green gun to fool his team of machine gun toting bodyguards. Or something dumber...

I doubt I'd go My Little Pony pink, but a "might be a cell phone" color is a good idea here, where concealed carry means if someone sees it they freak and the DA may charge you with brandishing if you show a glimpse sitting down in a restaurant.

I've been conditioning the locals with obvious cell phone holsters.

I'm somehow drawn to snubby model 10's...even though I've sold off every K frame I've had. Those underpowered 35oz revolvers sure look neat.

On the other hand I feel it would be remiss to not have a large framed 45ACP revolver in the inventory.

I've found a good gauge of how much I like a hand gun to be how many holsters I have for a particular type or model. Three holsters or more, and it's probably a keeper.

The idea of an alloy six shot 38 seems appealing. Taurus also makes one...but I really don't like those.

Unfortunately, in my current line of work, I have so many people point guns at me I can't even recall any specific instances anymore.

I ended up with $1000 more than I expected on my handgun sales. Good timing, I guess. My cheap revolver will be inbound soon. I look forward to putting it through its paces.

A Pachmayr grip is going on it and I've gotta figure a holster out. Some type of leather pancake style.

Speaking on philosophy. It's a bit disappointing all the dads out there that are hiring folks to teach their kids on gun safety (the real kind) and proper shooting techniques. Sign of the times, I guess.

The passing of essential life lessons seems to be entrusted to other people more and more these days.
