So, you intend to keep stoking the fire?

You can't let it go, bygons be bygons, move on, live life, be happy, all that? You've been so offended that it's impossible to forgive and forget. Harboring resentment and ill will is the fuel that keeps you going?

Say it ain't so.

I've probably endured more abuse on this site than anyone else in its history. It's nothing. I don't remember any of it by who was involved or what was specifically said.

Life is too short amigo.

People will be vindictive, mean, and stupid. Be nice to people anyway.

Most everyone could use some humble pie now and then. Were you offended by that???

Do you reckon that you maybe take offense too easily?

Imagine being Trump with the non-stop stream of hatred and lies coming your way via mainstream media and all the entertainers and leftist elites.

>>>>Life is too short amigo.

Wisdom.

Don't see enough of that on the internet.

I enthusiastically concur. I . . . owning, perhaps, to my sunset years . . . let a lot roll off my back.

Life literally is too short and I see so many folks who life and days are guided by anger and hate.

Sad.

We . . . in spite of all the daily crap fed us by the media . . . are living in the most amazing of times and we stir dust on the Mothership only briefly.

I choose to spend my days be amazed by amazing people, places and events.

We all make that choice.

More folks should heed Blake's wisdom. I assure you if he'd intended to insult or belittle anyone it would have been clear and apparent. That's not his style.

http://www.alt-market.com/index.php/articles/4302- lockdown-restrictions-are-a-test-to-see-how-much-t yranny-americans-will-accept

LOTS of common sense in this one.

I'm not saying I contribute much more in comparison, but I also have no interest in controlling the destinies of other people. I'm just trying to live my life as free as possible while helping to ensure others can do the same. And if I die from a virus, then I die, but at least I never aided in the enslavement of future generations. There are plenty of Americans of all ages that feel the same way as I do; but there are many others that seem to be missing that ability to control their fear.

The question I almost never see asked in the mainstream when it comes to the pandemic is this – Is it really all worth it?

Is it worth it to shut down large swaths of the US economy, threatening millions of jobs, sending millions of people into poverty, risking speedy financial collapse and degrading our fundamental freedoms just to save .03% of the population? What if it was 1% of the population? Would it be worth it then? What about 3%?

The reality is, it's NEVER worth it.

Hmmm....

Another lie is that we can somehow avoid or escape the virus. Eventually, almost everyone is going to get it, it's just a matter of time. Hope that a working vaccine can be developed in less than a year is deluded, and given the terrible results of previous attempts by governments to rush vaccines into production, I think I would rather take my chances with Covid. Even medical tyrant Dr. Fauci himself admits that a vaccine will not be fully effective and that the virus may be around for many years to come.

So, why are we beating around the bush? Why are we shutting down the economy? Why are we giving up our everyday freedoms? Who are we saving? No one. The people that are going to die from coronavirus are going to die from it sooner or later. If we are going to get into a discussion on the so-called “greater good”, then let's really be logical about it. The decision is not all that hard when you set aside the propaganda and think about it.

Again...astoundingly familiar.

FLATTEN THE CURVE doesn't mean "stop the disease" - it means keep everyone from getting it RIGHT NOW, and overloading hospitals RIGHT NOW. It doesn't mean people won't get sick. It doesn't mean we're going to extinguish the virus.

To be clear, I respect the private property rights of businesses that want customers to wear masks or take other precautions in their establishments. I have the right to not shop at those businesses if I don't like it. The problems arise when government officials try to FORCE businesses to institute pandemic restrictions or to close down completely. An even bigger problem arises when governments try to force pandemic restrictions onto individuals in their everyday lives. This is simply unacceptable.

Government edicts forcing people to social distance or wear masks or deny them the right to free assembly, once instituted, will probably never go away. Once government has the power to dictate your movements and behavior as if your moment-by-moment decisions are a threat to “public health”, they have total power to do anything they wish.

Many of these orders are also being made at the executive level. No state governor, no mayor, no president has the right to unilaterally create laws and assert unchecked authority. It is the job of legislatures to pass laws that affect the common public, and often these laws must be voted on by the citizenry through ballot initiatives. The governor has no more power to force me to wear a mask than some lunatic leftist Karen on the street.

It's not that I don't care about the people that are susceptible to the virus, it's just that I'm not willing to play a rigged game of sacrifice for those people. No, they aren't worth it, and
I include myself in that statement in the event that I am susceptible to the virus. Why should over 99% of people be treated like prisoners so less than 1% of the population can feel safer? If you are really at risk then STAY HOME, shop online and let the rest of us get on with our lives.

I would never ask the majority of people to sacrifice their liberties for my personal comfort. Anyone who does is a coward.

Sure. That’ll kill the e-coli and salmonella too. Amazing. All we need to do is continue to cook our food.

The problem is you handle the meat while cooking and your hands and utensils become infected.

If you like to rub raw meat on your face, that's a problem.

Me, I wash my hands after handling raw meat. Use fresh plates. Wash my dishes.

Still here.

I admit I don't eat at Chipolte, or use prewashed organic lettuce. E-coli, you know.

Cook meat to 120+ for steaks, 140+ for pork chops, ( FDA says 145 f ) 145-160 for chicken breast-thighs & ground turkey.

Heck, I own sous vide now so I can Pasteurize raw eggs & steak if I really wanted tartar.

And an instant read thermometer.

And fire!

A LOT of meat packing employees are immigrants. Everyone gets the flu, colds, and keeps working.

Ground meat requires cooking. Heck, all bear meat is assumed to have trichinosis. Cook it.

I don't eat sashimi. Or raw clams/oysters etc.

And you do have outbreaks of e-coli overload
occasionally when a meatpacking plant is allowed to deteriorate, but organic salad is even more likely to kill you, by far.

living in D controlled States is a health hazard.

And the killer asteroid is falling towards us as I speak. ( and post JFK, having the D Party in charge increases your chances of that killing you too )

Then there's the Five foods your doctor won't tell you not to eat! I don't know what they are, but the click bait is everywhere!!!

I will set aside a bite or two of fresh raw ground chuck with garlic powder on it while preparing meatloaf, and then eat it once the loaf is in the oven.

And boy do I love me some good sashimi!

I know, I'm a rebel who likes to live dangerously LOL!

"Cook it."

But cooking meat is racist. Don't ask me why, it just is from now on. Safest bet is to stop eating meat altogether and drink soy juice from paper straws.

Seriously, cook the meat and wash your hands. People have lived for ages handling raw meat and even eating raw meat. Stomach acidity of <pH2 renders basically any harmful virus and bacteria ineffective. Yes, even e. coli and salmonella won't stand a chance in that acidic environment.

One effective way to lower your stomach pH is by drinking apple cider vinegar after a meal, that will keep practically any virus or bacteria at bay.

From what I understand, eating a coronavirus will not make you sick, as its receptors aren’t built to bind to digestive system cells. But yeah, wash your dishes.

Cut off your hands and throw them away. Or less painful, wash them after cooking.

Just a few ideas, I'm no expert on hygiene or anything.

Beef Tartare- I'll have to look into that. M won't eat anything under medium well... ... nor will she eat mushrooms.

Hoot, I doubt this Coronavirus will latch into intestinal cells, but influenza is often pig or chicken tummy flu that crosses over to human lungs. ( from breathing feces dust ) I don't know how often the mutation goes the other way, respiratory to intestinal.

"The problem is you handle the meat while cooking and your hands and utensils become infected."

Wow.

Just...wow.

So, I cooked not only raw chicken, but also BACON last night. Two foods that are FULL of those dangerous, deadly virus things...hopefully I survive! I did cook the food, and I did clean the plates and utensils used for prep, and I washed my hands after wrapping the raw bacon around the raw chicken, but...wow. I really hope I don't die from some food-borne virus because I had the audacity to cook food that might be diseased....

Jesus. Are people REALLY that stupid??

Nevermind. I'm afraid I already know the answer to that one...

Yeah, I wash my hands BEFORE cooking.

Often during the process, between food handling segments.

I also wash my hands BEFORE treating a wound, then AFTER I wash them again.

That's not paranoid fear, that's trained hygiene.

I also wash my hands after shooting or casting lead bullets, and before eating, even though after shooting using soap and water a lab could still get a positive on a nitrate test! ( But it's still enough cleanliness to not add lead to my diet, and keep a burger from tasting like smokeless powder or Hoppes #9. )

Anecdote from the Reagan years, when Cocaine use was peaking among yuppie scum. A Miami newspaper collected $20 bills from various banks, and 100% tested positive for trace amounts of Cocaine. Every $20 bill in the area had rubbed against another that had been used to snort cocaine, or another that had rubbed against...

So it occurred to me on the way to work today - betcha we're told to "open everything back up" come April. Miraculously, the virus won't be this huge danger that it supposedly is right now.

Why?

That's when the government will realize their coffers are empty, because they shut down ...well... EVERYthing, and nobody had any income...so there's no tax revenue to be had.

That'll make them take notice.

Anyone want to take that bet?
