According to whom? Find a reliable source for that number. I'll wait. Even if that is the case (which I strongly doubt)...22m is absolutely NOT 75m. That...is basic math. 22m is not even a THIRD of 75m. This is the problem with this whole scenario - people are looking at bullshit numbers and pure speculation, and fanning the flames of panic for no reason whatsoever. So now Communist political oppression ("disappearing" of dissidents) is considered a "Coronavirus death"? I don't deny that China is dishonest as the day is long. I don't deny they kill their own to keep the power. And, I don't deny that a lot of their people have been "suicided" (to use a Clinton term) because of all the information surrounding this outbreak. But that doesn't make them "coronavirus deaths", as in "died from the disease". Nor does that change basic math, and make 22 million equal 75 million. Which was the troll's original statement. | ||

That's easy. Testing. Period. Next question? We need to stop testing people who show symptoms (duh) since we already know they've got it. We need to test everyone ELSE, to identify the true numbers of the infected. I've said that before. With zero mention of "no results" if a person is asymptomatic or presymptomatic? Nasal swabs may come up with a null result. We need - as the article states - GENETIC testing to become widespread. It is starting to become more available, and it is accurate. If you have a(ny) disease, it will show. With the right test. It's in you, whether it shows symptoms or not, and the right test will identify it. | ||

You do understand that the genetic testing you are talking about is looking for the genetic signature of the virus, right? The virus is only in the body during the infection period. During the incubation period, there generally won't be enough genetic material to be picked up by testing. Once somebody has fought the virus off, the virus is no longer in them, so you would never know who had been infected and didn't know it. Did you read the article you posted? Active infections would be those who are past the incubation period, but not yet free of the virus. It's really quite simple. That test BTW, will never tell you who has been an asymptomatic carrier. You need to test for antibodies for that. | ||

I will never let to test myself for coronavirus if I have no symptoms due to I do not want to catch coronavirus during test. I also will never let to test myself for coronavirus if I have mild symptoms and have no reason to call emergency for the same reason. (Message edited by TPEHAK on April 14, 2020) | ||
