Watched both parts. I hope his info on batteries is better than his info on IC engines. He made the claim that IC engines were only about 20% efficient. Back in the '70s I was taught it they were about 33% efficient. I've heard modern IC engines getting up into the 40-45% range, but the higher end of that gets a bit exotic. While electrics are incredibly efficient by comparison, tracing it back to burning the fuel to generate the electricity brings that down considerably. Still, interesting stuff. Elon Musk certainly is a visionary too. It's quite a combination!

20% is always the figure I’ve heard. But they are doing some incredible things these days.

https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1091436_toyot a-gasoline-engine-achieves-thermal-efficiency-of-3 8-percent

But, like I said, I’m not buying it to be green. I just think it’s a great car. And at 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, it’s no slouch. I’ll have to learn how to drive again after my 100 hp diesel. After 3000 RPM it just gets louder.

I guess it depends on who you ask. I learned it in a HS auto shop text book. Wikipedia says... "Modern gasoline engines have a maximum thermal efficiency of about 25% to 50% when used to power a car." Certainly lots of variables.

Possibly the greatest crime of the Climate Con thieves is taking money & attention from actual man made pollution disasters.

That the most toxic places on the planet are under Socialist rule won't surprise anyone who isn't brainwashed by CNN.

I don’t blame the activists. They’re just scared kids. The blame should be placed squarely upon the shoulders of the politicians, “scientists”, and faculty feeding impressionable young people this load of bull shit.

Anybody know a good Shaman who can do a rain dance for us over in E TN? Nothing but 90ish temps, very little chance of rain. It only rains enough to please the mosquitoes.
God refills the humidifier every day and laughs at us.

Sorry, if I knew a weather changing Shaman I'd have hired him. I still have 2 acres of lovely waving long grass. Got a goat I could borrow? There are still parts of my yard that are too wet to run a tractor over.

I've never lived in Tennessee, but every time I've visited it was hot & humid, or snowing with the locals blaming us Northern visitors for it.

Speaking of blaming people for nature's wrath.

Eastern Tennessee is a whole lot different than western Tennessee. I lived a few miles north of Memphis for a few years. Nice people. summers. Sort of like where I live now.

Someone's gotta say it,

"save the planet, kill yourself"

sad. I'm curious about hygiene. Those reusable grocery bags are becoming notorious for being bacteria farms. A little leakage of meat juices, and the e-coli found in mildly clorinated water washed organic salad stuff, and you have the incubator for plague. The death count is still statistically insignificant, which means you probably don't know the grieving family. ( but there are grieving families )

As someone who deals with medial issues with relatives and self, I can say that disposable bandages, sterile one use stuff from needles to non stick gauze pads, are a near miracle in fatal infection prevention. Most of that stuff is in plastic, or in plastic coated paper, or partly made of plastic.

Just ask any diabetic. Folk that have to poke themselves with needles a dozen times a day, need more than "rinse it in the sink, that's good enough" to stay healthy, and few can afford an autoclave in the home. Anyone Old who's skin can't take adhesive anymore, any one young who has no immunity to the planet yet, and anyone with a compromised immune system is grateful for plastic stuff.

Infections used to be the #1 cause of death. The infection may have started with an arrow or a nail, but until we had the Germ Theory and antibiotics.........

I've studied Medieval medicine. I don't want to go back.

Probably me, somehow I've survived riding a CityX past 46K miles. "in anger"...

Maybe I'll live as long as I should.

Diabetic type 1 for a while. "I shoot up to live" is my joke. I reuse MY needles. Had a kid who told me he was afraid of needles... I stripped off the little 33 gauge bit.
Waited until we were in the back area, took the needle protector off, and... pretended to jab him.

Funny as hell to me, but God will judge me for that.

Just stopped by Eviation's Prescott office again yesterday.
Nobody there but I did see a large scale model (about 1/4) of Alice in the lobby.
Happy to see they are making progress.
I'll be checking more often.

I saw a representative of Eviation on Fox Business News a while back. They claimed to have at least one order on the books for a charter service. I could possibly see that. Business charters often want a quick return trip when the business is done though. Being told they have to wait to recharge batteries is not going to get repeat business. Sounds impressive though.

I expect that any good business and Eviation would have had that sorted out ahead of time.
What is the recharge time?

Depends largely on the business model of the charter company. If they do regular runs, they have complete control, except for things like weather that may divert you to a alternate location. When my nephew was flying charters, it was often that he was expected to be ready to go wheels up when they call and say they are heading to the airport.

Recharge time? I don't recall if they said in the interview I saw, but it's got to be hours at a minimum. Even if it were possible in under an hour, that would require pretty specialized equipment at the turn around destination. Again, OK when you have a regular run, but not for the charter customer who wants it to their chosen destination, on their schedule. Impressive, but I see it as a niche market product. Low operating costs is a big benefit, but I don't know how the initial expenditure compares with a piston or turboprop airplane. I do wish them luck in this venture though. It's companies like this that push the existing boundaries of what is possible.

Now Sandy the Taco Waitress's control admit the Green Leap Forward has nothing to do with the environment, and everything to do with changing the economy.

Let me translate. "We lied, so we could take your freedom & steal your property. Our real goal is to destroy Capitalism, so we can be the Boss of You in all aspects of your life. Hail Hydra!"

The U.N. Says it has nothing to do with the environment. It's about changing economic systems.

And since economic systems is the lie of Marxism to take power, it's about power.

Sandy's Control Says it has nothing to do with the environment. It's a lie to take power.

The Brit Hadley Climate folk say it's not about science, it's about silencing others. ( in leaked E-mails )

Sandy herself says it's not about facts, it's about feelings. Higher causes than truth. Aka, lie to get power.

There is no aspect of this that had anything to do with science, for the Climate Con. It's about lying for power.

When they openly admit they lie, why would any sane person believe them?

The world has fallen down the rabbit hole.

Tesla update: Tesla have reduced the price of the Model 3 across the board and eliminated the upcharge for the paint color I selected. This resulted in a credit on my account since I have already paid, but have not taken delivery. The credit, combined with the lower prices, is enough to switch up to the performance model for no additional cost. So I did : ). Bigger brakes, and some unlocked performance. 0 to 60 is now 3.2 seconds. That’s supercar territory. : )
