That Drayman version of Silence has been out for a while. Great remake. If you search youtube you'll find a few videos of vocal coaches reacting to his range and tone. He also does some nice duets with Lzzy Hale (Halestorm) - another vocalist with some INCREDIBLE abilities. If you like rock remakes, check out Halestorm's Re-Animate series - 3 albums of covers, from the Beatles to Metallica, and she nails it ALL. | ||

I just last week saw VW's ad using the original Simon & Garfunkel "Sound of Silence" to promote their new EV. I thought they captured the corporate darkness of their dieselgate and this new vision. I have no opinion on the vehicle or the company, but I thought the ad was Superbowl worthy. | ||

Somehow, on the President Trump thread we started talking about Evanescence. I recently discovered this band, similar genre. Zora's voice is one of the sweetest I've ever heard, and their music is very full. Dark and bleak and heavy, yet bright and sweet at the same time. Kind of like pairing a good bold roasted black coffee with some dark chocolate-covered-cherries. Most of their songs are also somehow seductive without using sex-appeal. Most bands don't leave that much of an impression on me. | ||
