Why? They're afraid of guns so you know they don't practice, and assuming they follow their own rules he'll only have to duck...what...nine times? Because any more shots than that would have to have a pause-for-reload, right?

Because the Dems ALWAYS follow the rules they try and impose on others.

The spin is heavy here.

I'll just note that the Trump presidency lowered the number of gun sales because he didn't seem an active threat to our rights. Thus sales were down when the CEO of Dicks/Field & Stream decided to virtue signal by screwing gun owners in public.

Thus it isn't as big a percentage of sales as three years ago.

I'm completely boycotting the stores for the arbitrary and illegal violations of civil rights. Just one is to deny 18-20 year old adults their right to buy arms. Just so one a-hole can get praised at rich a-hole parties.

Try and live off yoga mats.

They are, btw, an anchor store at my local mall & a new outbuilding. Never setting foot inside again. Never letting civil rights violations for ego go.

I'm not in the same position as these nice folk. I pretend to be law abiding. ( I deny breaking the speed limit, right? ) I'm not openly contemptuous of local Law Enforcement.

Oh, the City cops are middling corrupt. Not Chicago corrupt, but average. 2 Suburban departments are notoriously Mob connected. But the County Sheriff dept. has a good reputation. ( except for the guys caught with hookers "negotiating" leniency at the sub station )

Still, I'd never make such honest statements to the press as these nice folk in NZ.

Maybe this wave of crime shows from that area bear watching.

We had a little bit of everything out there!

Nice. Sorry about the spinner.

My brother screwed up my handgun spinner with my .44 Mag...it was rated for all non magnum centerfire pistol calibers. He hit the pivot, and it literally took years to loosen the thing up. The rest of it got a bit dented/pock marked...but aside from creating a bit of a splash back hazard on that side, I still use it.

Nice, I like the bayonet!
I've been looking at a Ruger PC9 a friend has to sell.
He's got a range membership so I finally got to test out my new CZ.
I like it, I like it a lot!
Its so smooth, and really accurate.

Good to see Thumper getting his stepson into guns.
My parents were so anti gun, I didn't even touch a gun until Hunter Safety class in 9th grade.
Back then it was a required class.
The times they have changed!

Everyone needs a 9mm carbine.

CZ's tend to be well built, accurate guns at an affordable price...save for their fancy factory race guns.

Often all it takes for someone on the fence about guns to see the light is shooting one under proper tutelage.

Times have changed...though while it's been a major theme to try to make the general public see guns as evil...it seems everyone has an AR-15 and semi automatics rule.

Headline is a bit misleading. Those things aren’t banned, just illegal to fire. Discharging a weapon is illegal already in most cities.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/03/27/ups hot/deadly-bullets-guns.html

This NY Slimes piece attempts to paint an illuminating light on handgun calibers by exposing the fact that eliminating cheap small caliber firearms resulted in people shooting each other with bigger, fancier, and more capable guns. Duh.

Saturday night specials were banned so that low income blacks would not be able to afford to protect themselves. All part of the plan.

There have been at least 3 waves of "get rid of cheap guns to keep them out of the hands of Negroes". One in the 1860-70 era, mandating all pistols to be built to military standards. Yes, weapons of war or nothing! Then a Saturday night special law in the 1920s and again in 1968.

All accomplished the task of making guns more expensive. All had the same result of increasing gun theft. All had the effect of increasing crime and gun violence.

As will the next scam.

I think the shift towards more reliable and more high-powered guns has been contributing to the deadliness of gun violence.

Um...how about this:

Keep ALL guns, away from CRIMINALS.

Focus on the laws that prosecute CRIMINALS, not laws that prosecute guns.

I know.

But I can dream.

And, I'll keep collecting my $.19/rd 9mm FMJs in the meantime. Preference being Critical Duty, of course, but in a pinch....

And because an X frame S&W is as heavy as a rifle and nearly as hard to carry.

My personal, biased, wimpy view is that the .500 S&W Magnum is a novelty item unless you really need a dangerous game stopping gun.

Nothing wrong with novelty. I knew a guy that used a .50-70 Sharps to hunt 'chuck. Why not? ( you could see the bullets in flight )

And while big game hunting is in some decline, some things stay the same....

I most often have seen the .500 & .460 in stores, used, with a box of ammo with one cylinder full missing. Just like the .44 Magnum in it's post Dirty Harry heyday.

Not a joke. A cliche, but true.

I make fun of the magnums, but for hunting, they offer serious capability. My personal comfort zone tops out around .44 magnum, but ymmv.

The 10mm is making a bit of a cult comeback, and was based on the idea of .45 ACP power, pushed out to 200 yards. Roughly equivalent to the .41 Magnum, arguably the perfect hunting & police caliber in it's original two loadings. The idea of a Glock as a backup in bear country and a primary deer hunting pistol would have been ridiculous, but it does the job well in 10mm.

The .460 & .500 are, like the .454 Casull, or a snub nosed .357, expert weapons. A high skill level, and high tolerance for recoil, are needed to enjoy the guns or get results.

Not for me. But they are still cool.

I use .454 Casull and a snub nosed .357. My dream machine would be a Sig P227 chambered in .460 Rowland tuned in the Sig Sauer factory with a warranty.

Big and slow works for me. Hard cast bullets at moderate velocities can mess up a lot of stuff.

The trick to enjoying big bore/magnum stuff is to try not to shoot them all day.

Yep, expert weapons. I'd include most martial arts manual weapons, flails, slings, edged weapons in general.

I see they have a new .429 Desert Eagle cartridge & barrel set. Necked down .50 AE, using .44 Magnum bullets. If anyone gets one, let me know. I'd like a report.

Don't feel a need for one. I did see a Walther .22 version of the PPK at a combination gun store lawn equipment shop. Not a superior defense gun, but James Bond nostalgia for plinking.

Shot my brother's Desert Eagle .50 awhile back.
Useless pistol.
Not at all accurate. Would eject spent rounds over your head, past your ear or into your face.
Recoil was really not a big deal.

I had both a DE .50 and a .44mag for awhile. Ya, you aren't going to CC either of them: )

I thought they were fine to handle with my Hulk hands and accurate out to pistol range. 7lbs of metal makes a soft re-coil (considering...)
Never had an issue with ejection unless I bought super cheap re-loads and the gun wouldn't cycle.

They are good for fun, and to hear everyones impersonation of Bullet-tooth Tony, but thats about it.

My first carry gun was a Ruger Black Hawk in .44 magnum with a 7.5" barrel. I carried in a shoulder rig with the holster tucked behind my belt at the waist. Just takes commitment. Now, that DE .50 is huge and heavy. No tucking that thing in your skivvies.

There are now lightweight/compact versions of the DE pistols available. Still a bit thick for carry use. They do shoot well enough. They are definitely a niche gun. I've always fancied the polished stainless version.

For the moment I'm okay with these.
