‘House guest ‘, I read elsewhere that we won’t be replacing rape with ‘undocumented vagina visitor ‘ for some reason. |

How about replacing Rapist with Undocumented Gynecologist? They're "Dreamers" too. |

LOL!!! My sweetie once worked at a call center that dealt with parents needing learning curricula for their kids- she would see some very odd names. She had to work from certain scripts, learned to verify spelling before she even said the name. "A'sholle" was one. IIRC "LaQueefa" was another. Unbelievable. I worked with a girl named "Nicolette"... I always thought of nicotine gum when I heard her name. She was probably born before that was invented, poor thing. |

There are, at my last count, 3 books titled "What Not To Name The Baby". My favorite goes into how what a child is called affects their personality. Chuck is a different person than Charles, etc. There are a lot of kids who should sue their parents. |

A friend of mine has a daughter, she's about...six now, I think (the daughter, not my friend). My friend thought she was being unique when she picked her daughter's name - didn't know anyone else who'd named their kid that, couldn't recall ever knowing one in her lifetime, so picked something "different". She named her daughter Alexa. |

This should rile someone. I have known more than 10 Lisas. All but one a confirmed lesbian. I never got to know the one that I can not confirm either way. Maybe it was just a coincidence. |

Nice! New Gillette ad? Once again, I fail to catch a trend. I decided to let the beard grow ( from a short goatee ) & fill in the face insulation. A week ago! It was cold, and, alas, before the Gillette debacle. I do it every year. So no hipster points for me! I like the Gillette fusion, but blades are stupid expensive. I have a pack of Wal-Mart disposables, and they are good for one or at most three crummy cheek scrapes, before uselessness. Amazingly bad. My favorite razors? Bic Metal. Single edge, uses a wire guard instead of plastic, narrow head, excellent for trimming edges and the wide swaths. Hard to find. A buddy does the Dollar shave club & the heavy metal handle.... But he's also into boutique natural shave brushes and whatever new trend in stupid expensive toys. I have used dumb macho naked blades to shave while camping, but the true razor edge you want isn't really good on a butterfly knife or tomahawk. I can do it, and not bleed much, but a freaking Bic does a great job with zero risk on a cold foggy hungover morning with eyes half shut while tending a fire with one hand to boil water for the French press. |

Anything to make life easy in a medieval camp when you get up at chilly dawn to visit the porta john, realize you are first up, and thus will be heroic if you start coffee. Canvas, check. Linen viking clothes, check. Armor in watery sunlight to dry before battle this morn, check. That's enough authenticity, give me Kenyan mild roast & clover honey! |

I use a Norelco wet/dry cordless. In the shower with soap I get the closest shave ever with an electric. As good as any razor. Haven't needed a tiny piece of TP for my face in years. For the last 30 years, I grow my beard from Labor Day to Memorial Day and shave most off for the Summer. Never shave the moustache. This year I'm not going to trim it all winter, never done that before. Might wait till I get back from the Springfield Mile to cut it back. |

This year I'm not going to trim it all winter, never done that before. I was planning that this year. Started mid October. By Christmas, I just did't like how it was curling back on itself into tangles. I still haven't trimmed my chin though. That's not too bad if I keep it combed out. |
