Quote: The silence was deafening in all of this as the word “Sportster” wasn’t part of the discussion. The likelihood that these new liquid-cooled middleweight twins are replacements for the Sportster line is low, so expect news in Harley-Davidson’s more traditional custom space. There is also the “adventure Sportster” shown in the video that suggests continued life for the air-cooled platform. “I wouldn’t jump to a conclusion that this product is necessarily a replacement for Sportster,” Kumbier said. - from Cycle World. The old school Harley riders can't be happy. Do the new electric bikes come with a "potato, potato, potato" recording? Edited because I can't spell... (Message edited by Zane on July 30, 2018) |

Willie G retired I do believe. That Street Fighter definitely has my attention. |

Dang if those brakes look like Brembo's! Gonna have to pinch myself, can't hardly believe what I'm seeing. Guessing these are built around the Street motors? I've barely looked at anything on the sales floor since I left the biz. |

I know he's retired, but I think he still remains involved with the company. |

I don't think he is. If he were...think they'd be going as "foreign" as they are? Outsourcing as much as they are? Those ARE Brembo brakes, at least on the ADV bike. You can see the name emblazoned on the caliper. Curious to see how the actual products are. And to see how reaction is to them - these are very much UJM-oriented products...decidedly non-HD. |

"The coolest feature is invisible drive belts." Good catch! The streetfighter looks to have a belt rotor on the rear wheel, but no belt. Hmmm. |

You mean the last one in that post, Fresno? Doesnt to me, doesnt have the iconic frame. But if youre referring to it being a street fighter, sure. It looks like an XB street fighter in style. Along with most of them on the market in the past decade. I tell you, I do love it. Im excited about Harley again. Im interested to see how these are received around the country. THese sorts of bikes (ADV and Street fighter) plus an amazing dealer network will be awesome. |

I do wonder if they will be accepted by the stodgiest of HD riders. Sure the enthusiast will like them. |

Nothing like getting your ass kicked by the “other”American bike maker to get you going. They do look interesting, wonder how close production will be to these concepts. Livewire interests me too! |

Dual overhead cams. Cool. I wonder if they can service the valve train without dropping the engine. |

I have been patiently waiting for the replacement to the Uly XT. That Pan American come in 2020. (Like the others) 19” front wheel, more displacement and It does look like a chain drive on the opposite side. As stated in the article. I don’t really care for the size of the body, but it may also address another concern, MORE FUEL!!! Throw in 6 speeds, ABS and traction control and I may have found my next bike. An in dash GPS may require some private time alone. I think I will be hanging at the Harley shop a bit more. I have a year to clean up the Uly for sale. |

I'm not real excited, I like where they are finally starting to go, but I know these will be pricey and my dealer will still be a thieving bastard (my opinion among others). I like the current XG, would like to pick up a 500 and build a Cafe out of it someday. Need a real workshop, running out of space to work and store things. Latest video done outside simply because working on the trailer is easier than on the floor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3i0shPkR1M Set up one of those cheapo Harbor Freight portable sheds to store things, thankfully already had a concrete pad there. A bigger real shed would be nice, but building codes somehow prevent sticking a shed in the corner of your lot, though they allowed this back in the 50's when the first one went up. Stupid f'ing laws! |

I should mention that the Pan-American looks VERY Euro, almost 80's BMW-ish. Also note that the Pan-Am is floating in the forest, not a real picture or a composite picture. No shadow, real wheel not on the ground, etc. |

I like all 3. Probably wouldn't buy any of them except maybe the LiveWire, but only after seeing the spec's. Not a fan of the big ugly box underneath that custom though. Wouldn't make it over the speed bumps in my neighborhood. |

The street fighter looks interesting if it has at least 90HP to the wheel, weighs <450 lbs. and cost less than 10 grand. Far as the all electric; I'm not there yet... probably never will be. To me they are like a Blood Hound with out a voice. |
