Speaking of Democrat reactions to the SOTU:

Nice one Pwnzor.

Nancy looked like she had serious dental hygiene issues, like fibers stuck between her teeth, or was having a stroke. Trouble is, no one can tell, since paralysis and metal confusion are now her New Normal.

Without hearing one word of the speech, I have some observations.

It was a lot easier to just send a letter, like Jefferson did. I understand that this is a chance to get on tv, and that is more important than..... anything. Today.

"Third longest SOTN". Well? Are you going for the record, or not? Third? Piker.
Actually, I'd go for the shortest. Maximum discomfort for people who think Family is a dirty word, for minimum effort. I admit that there are reasons I'm not in politics.

I can see me now. "Economy is up, the world still has communists and islamists who want to impose their system on us all by force, including mass murder, I'm open to suggestions that don't involve a lot of radioactive glass. Pretty much everything else is small change in comparison. Love one another. Protest authoritarians. Refuse to go along with lies. Understanding doesn't mean agreement, but it helps to reach one. May the God, Goddess, or Goddesses of your choice bless you and all this nation, and the world."

Noooooo! Don't want the job.

King would be ok if it was a temp job.

Can't argue I'd be a good President since I'm not driven by personal ambition. Those have been some of the scariest ones. No, there is a long list of why I'd hate the job, and high on the list is my distaste for the people that want the job of running other people's lives. I don't want to have that much crazy aimed at me.

Assistant Sec Def? maybe. I have notions of what equipment we should have for the military.

Example, U.S. Navy ships need More Dakka. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MoreDak ka We need it because we live in the age of http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Macross MissileMassacre and http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Robotec hing missiles.

Or Supreme Court Justice. Long summer vacations to go riding, the vague possibility of doing some good for society, if only by being insistent on limited power for government. Really the dream retirement job.

Dealing with the problems of Macross Missile Massacres is the more fun job, IMHO.

"...Each act, each occasion, is worse than the last, but only a little worse. You wait for the next and the next. You wait for one great shocking occasion, thinking that others, when such a shock comes, will join with you in resisting somehow. You don't want to act, or even talk, alone; you don't want to 'go out of your way to make trouble.' Why not?-Well, you are not in the habit of doing it. And it is not just fear, fear of standing alone, that restrains you; it is also genuine uncertainty. Uncertainty is a very important factor, and, instead of decreasing as time goes on, it grows. Outside, in the streets, in the general community, 'everyone' is happy. One hears no protest, and certainly sees none. You know, in France or Italy there would be slogans against the government painted on walls and fences; in Germany, outside the great cities, perhaps, there is not even this. In the university community, in your own community, you speak privately to your colleagues, some of whom certainly feel as you do; but what do they say? They say, 'It's not so bad' or 'You're seeing things' or 'You're an alarmist.'

And you are an alarmist. You are saying that this must lead to this, and you can't prove it. These are the beginnings, yes; but how do you know for sure when you don't know the end, and how do you know, or even surmise, the end? On the one hand, your enemies, the law, the regime, the Party, intimidate you. On the other, your colleagues pooh-pooh you as pessimistic or even neurotic. You are left with your close friends, who are, naturally, people who have always thought as you have....

But the one great shocking occasion, when tens or hundreds or thousands will join with you, never comes. That's the difficulty. If the last and worst act of the whole regime had come immediately after the first and smallest, thousands, yes, millions would have been sufficiently shocked-if, let us say, the gassing of the Christians in '43 had come immediately after the 'German Firm' stickers on the windows of non-Christian shops in '33. But of course this isn't the way it happens. In between come all the hundreds of little steps, some of them imperceptible, each of them preparing you not to be shocked by the next. Step C is not so much worse than Step B, and, if you did not make a stand at Step B, why should you at Step C? And so on to Step D.

And one day, too late, your principles, if you were ever sensible of them, all rush in upon you. The burden of self-deception has grown too heavy, and some minor incident, in my case my little boy, hardly more than a baby, saying 'Christian swine,' collapses it all at once, and you see that everything, everything, has changed and changed completely under your nose. The world you live in-your nation, your people-is not the world you were born in at all. The forms are all there, all untouched, all reassuring, the houses, the shops, the jobs, the mealtimes, the visits, the concerts, the cinema, the holidays. But the spirit, which you never noticed because you made the lifelong mistake of identifying it with the forms, is changed. Now you live in a world of hate and fear, and the people who hate and fear do not even know it themselves; when everyone is transformed, no one is transformed. Now you live in a system which rules without responsibility even to God. The system itself could not have intended this in the beginning, but in order to sustain itself it was compelled to go all the way."

Really? I look at Social Democrats spouting anti Jew propaganda and Fusion GPS partner insisting on conspiracy between Putin and Jews, & I see 1930's Germany. Google executive threatening employees whistle blowing prejudice and illegal labor practices. Democrats cheering Republican congressmen being shot and in vehicle accidents with fatalities. Socialist riots with shattered glass & arson..... so 1930's it hurts.

Antifa sponsored by Nazi. Not fake "trumpisanazi" pretend people, real "informed on Jews, wore a swastika, best years of my life" billionaire Nazi.

And of course, Julie. Theoretically a compassionate human being with intelligence. But unwilling to form an argument based on facts or principles, parrot of the Party Line, ad hominem attacks, etc.

The book warning about the group identity mindset allowing mass murder is a good reminder of the path of leftism. Without comment or context, you can interpret Julie's post as a confession of guilt. Or a mindless propaganda parrot.

Based on Julie's few coherent comments it may reflect fear of authoritarian socialism and the inevitable violence it brings. Why she pretends that socialist collusion with ex Soviet Russian intelligence isn't a Democrat Party/Hillary Campaign policy, as shown by Uranium One, the Steele dossier, and other connections? She hasn't said.

What I find most telling in the released text messages by the alleged cheating lovers who's hatred of Trump shines so brightly isn't the "insurance policy" usually interpreted as a treasonous conspiracy. ( because they refer to treasonous conspiracy )

No, it's the warning to back off any prosecution of the now well known criminal conspiracy that's the Hillary email affairs. When Hillary wins she will destroy her enemies, ( unspoken, obvious ) won't care if you are FBI or DOJ ( written specific personal warning ) so you're either part of the cover up to please your future master ( & current one, unindicted co-conspirator Barack ) or suffer the consequences when Hillary takes power.

Nowhere in this conspiracy is it even considered that the rule of law would keep Hillary from personal vindictive revenge on any one who she considered disloyal.

We are just beginning to see how close we came to 1930's Germany. We are having exposed how the FBI was being used much like the secret police of Germany, as a tool against those who might dare to think the wrong thoughts. Just think about the simple fact that Donna Brazile, who had been part of the corruption to elect Hillary, found herself questioning her own safety from Hillary. We are right now seeing Democrats in a panic about information being released about the FBI's corruption in weaponizing against private citizens who's crime was to not thinking in alignment with those in power. 1930's Germany indeed.

Instead of 1930's Germany, 2016 might better be thought of as Russia just before Stalin took over. If Hillary had won, she would have had the power to purge her enemies en mass, with the former Obama Social Justice department to cover the excesses, instead of the retail murder she's known for. ( Brazile was not a right wing conspiracy to fear a bullet in the head, she understands who is responsible when there are suicides and failed robberies. ) Just because Hillary hasn't yet been convicted of murder doesn't mean her minions aren't certain they would die at her whim.

Looked at that way, Russia with a failed Stalinist coup, we're in unknown territory. The Communist Party isn't done trying to take over by Any Means Necessary, & the attacks on your rights isn't going to stop.

Unlike Russia in 1924, we still have civil rights. Even after 8 years of Obama ( Lenin ) we are not as devoid of freedom. But the attempt to finish the coup is ongoing.

History doesn't really repeat itself. It does rhyme.

" Without comment or context, you can interpret Julie's post as a confession of guilt."

Funny that's exactly what I interpreted it as at first, then I realized without the grammatical error it had to be a cut and paste from somewhere.
I'm confident Julie posted it believing it to be a window into her political opposition's mindset. We see it as Julie looking in a mirror.

I just used the same technique I used to find plagiarism in speeches. Cut & paste a suspect line into a search.

Julie put it in quotation marks so this wasn't any wrongdoing on her part. No misrepresentation. I was just looking for the source, which she forgot to give.

Many Obama speeches have entire paragraphs stolen directly from very famous people. Mussolini, Hitler, Lenin, Goebbels, etc. Just shows his writers are thieves, and to bend over backwards, every sentiment in a public speech possible has been uttered over time.

Like love songs. Plagiarism is inevitable at some point. The singularity where there are no new combinations of notes or words that aren't partially copied may be near. Quick maths.

So now the FBI apparently wants all the names redacted from "the memo".

I guess they haven't thought this through. Scott Adams noted that the unreleased memo is probably worse for the parties involved than the actual memo, because we can all imagine all sorts of things the memo might actually say until it's actually released.

If the names are redacted, the same principal will apply and we'll theorize that everyone in the FBI and DOJ was involved at some point.
