 Are You Superstitious? Not a bit! One of my favorite experiences was while I was walking through a cemetery in Berlin, Germany and a black cat crossed my path. I'm not a cat person, but I took that chance occurrence as a sign that my trip to the cemetery would be stellar. And it was. I found some really unique graves in that cemetery. Unfortunately that was before I had a digital camera, so the old timey print pictures must be hiding around here somewhere. Superstition As John said - Happy Friday the 13th, all! | ||

Neither I nor my wife are but she grew up in rural Japan and can remember a lot of the things her mother told her that were probably passed down for ages. Don't whistle at night because snakes will come into your home. If your palm itches, you're about to come into money. Don't kill a spider in the morning. They're good luck. Seems she had a superstition for every situation. | ||

Regarding the black cat myth....I heard it's the other way around. It's bad luck if YOU cross the cat's path. Remember, it was believed that witches took the form of black cats. Therefore if you crossed, or blocked the path of a black cat, you might be pissing off a witch. Hence the bad luck. | ||

Yes but only about riding motorcycles on the 4th of July and Friday the 130th. I avoid riding the 4th after my first bike accident on that date. And my second. The 13th is a prime and I always have a great ride. Coincidence? If you say so. Any others like walking under ladders or not preflighting my aircraft fall under the "duh! That's not luck that's just good sense" I admit some suggestibility re: ghosts/haunting, but that's just over active imagination. I think I'm cured of that by stupid tv ghost shows. "Did you hear that?" Crap. | ||

My first date with my wife was on Friday, the 13th. We got married on Friday, the 13th. And we just signed our new Will's today, on Friday, the 13th. I'm not sure what that means. | ||

I had a Servicar, stripped, 65 or 67 I think. It was a hoot in the snow is about all I remember. | ||

Wish I still had it, it was honestly a 90/95% original surviver. Something just as cool if not cooler kinda landed in my lap and it was traded sort of. I don't regret it at all (honestly!) but sure do wish I still had it. Same with the 65 FTW Triumph chopper I had since high school (over 30 years) and recently GAVE away. Never again they will have to fight for my treasure when I'm dead. |
