I know that they claim to operate them, but I think a lot of that is propaganda. Getting one in the air is a long way from it actually working as a fighter. | ||

+1 on that. I was conversing with a USN Captain Blackwho was the last F-14 Aviator Certification Officer before the "Withdrawal", And he stated as good as the F-14 was, the F-18 has been a better plane due to availability according to the plane maintenance officers: " For an 8:00 am mission, we would have to get up at 4:30 to ensure a successful launch. with the F-18, we can sleep 'til 7:30!" | ||
