Since they don't hang gay people in the streets, and dance with joy at torture, like the Islamists do, but instead make gay folk priests, I don't think I have a lot to worry about there. Let me know if that changes." I'm Judgmental about Tyrants too. I warned the Conservatives that letting Georgie do things in the interest of expedience against the Enemy meant his successor ( at the time the Annointed ( by my Union ) Hillary ) would also have these powers. I warned the Progressives that letting Barry the Weasel get away with ignoring the law would mean that his successor would also have such powers, they ran away, holding their hands over their ears, yelling "Na na na na I can't hear you!" Now that it's vaguely possible that the Donald may have a pen and a phone................ | ||

I've been posting Bill Whittle videos on my Facebook and hoping against hope that one of my Liberal friends will watch and possibly think for a change. The Liberal/Progressive philosophy leads to decay and destruction but it takes a lot for one to relinquish this negative thinking. It took me over 25 years to realize that Conservatism is the only path to wealth and prosperity for the majority of Americans. There will always be poor, no matter what, that is the way of the world, and that unfortunate minority can be helped with a safety net if and only if there is prosperity. | ||

Alfau (for whatever reason that is really none of my business) makes a lot of ignorant statements that seem designed simply provoke a response. No problem to use facts to point out where wrong is wrong, but do so in a factual, succinct, and non angry way. Unfortunately with Alfau, there often aren't even coherent statements in the first place, just some kind of odd statement that may or may not be relevant to the conversation going on, followed by some vitriol filled attack against someone or something that communicates nothing beyond the fact that Alfau is likely struggling with some kind of personal issues. We, as a badweb community, try to be as inclusive as possible, and so we are incredibly slow to ban. But there are some basic decorum and behaviors we need to maintain in order to be as inclusive as possible. Alfau actually violates those rules on a fairly regular basis, and we probably should have banned him already, but I just hate to cut anyone off from any community, much less somebody clearly struggling. For what that's worth. Try and find some meaningful point in what he writes, and address it in a sincere non angry way. Lets be really careful that we don't paint a country with a brush that Alfau handed us in a manipulative attempt to make us respond to something stupid and false but provocative. In other words, keep calm and carry on. | ||

The problem is that half the time (perhaps more than that) what he posts is so detached from reality and the conversation, it's very difficult to address in any meaningful way. At the same time, I find him to be pretty harmless. Just one of those folks I shake my head at when I see his posts, and I'm thankful that I don't have to deal with him in person. | ||

I agree with Alfau on Hillary. Maybe not for the same reasons but she is an admitted felon who broke multiple security rules on classified documents, which she denies, & destroyed documents, which she bragged about. I liked Carson but he's not doing well with gotcha questions and people keep going on about the pyramids. Then again Barry claimed Islam invented the arch. Uh. No. | ||

Ask an Indian. Every item mentioned in that article came from trade with India. Yes, the culture spanning N. Africa during the medieval dark ages was fairly advanced. Yes Europe got a lot of good technology transfer from the Islamic invasion.
