All these descriptions of the Daily Caller are interesting, but it seems to me that the real issue is if the co-ops really have been failing or did the author merely make it up? Do you have anything on that?

Exaggeration? Understatement, really.

You may look back at that and think fondly of the days of the $15 hamburger with only 200% VAT tax.

Once again GreatLaker attacks the source of information, and think that it somehow changes facts of the matter.

Do you really not understand how to make an argument? Or are you just entertaining yourself?

Just because the MSM is ignore it, it must not be happening. Or is it? http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/257165-two-mo re-obamacare-non-profit-insurers-to-close

BTW is anyone else on a BCBS Choice PPO? We got notified that it going away in IL. I read the same thing for TX BCBS. The TX web site actually explains why it's being eliminated... http://www.bcbstx.com/company-info/alerts-announce ments/alerts-announcements?lid=icadpkzd

quote:

Why is Blue Choice PPO going away?

BCBSTX was the only insurer to offer an individual PPO insurance plan across the state to individuals in 2014 and 2015. Since the Affordable Care Act began, the market has changed. We found that the individual PPO plan was no longer sustainable at the cost it was being offered. Because we want to make sure that our plans are affordable, we decided to not offer individual PPO plans in 2016.
Why couldn't you just keep offering the individual PPO plans and raise the rate for them?

The law requires that we set our individual plan rates based on all of our individual members' claims history. This means that if the costs of one plan are high, it will raise the rates of all other plans, not just the high-cost plan. If we kept the Blue Choice PPO, this would have raised the rates so much for all our other plans that most people wouldn't be able to afford them. By dropping the PPO, we can still offer our other plans at reasonable rates.

In short BO care is putting insurance carriers in a position where they have to limit your choices because of the what the law is written. Well done BO. Well done.

BTW, citing Wikipedia to discredit information coming from a news website kind of reeks of irony.

Any of you guys ever been outdoors, having a good time with friends and/or family, and one of those tiny, annoying, insignificant little bugs keeps showing up and buzzing around your ears?

Even though it's distracting and a PITB, you have enough respect for its pathetic and miserable little existence that you try to chase it away with simple swipes of your hand, but the annoying and small little pest keeps returning with its annoying and insignificant attempts to ruin your day.

You sort of pity the worthless little insect, since its feeble intelligence doesn't allow it to even realize that it's incapable of contributing to the grand scheme of things. Other than being a small, worthless, annoying, little POS that is...

The good news in both r&d campaigns is there are at least a few guys worth voting for.

The bad news is the big money is on folk that are not.

At least that's my opinion.

Ducbsa, that's priceless. More and better gulags indeed.

I may switch from Cthulu to SMOD.

As a traditionalist, You have to appreciate the "Mountains OF Madness"

http://www.dagonbytes.com/thelibrary/lovecraft/mou ntainsofmaddness.htm

Warning. It's a long story and an arcane style a bit hard to read today. You can see why i call Lovecraft the "second most ripped off writer, after Shakespeare." "Hellboy" comes to mind.

The idea that the mere presence of an Old One can make men go insane.... It's classic, and rather reminds me of Hillary, in particular, and all Cult of Personality types in general.

Although, as I'm Not A Fan of Hillary, I have a hard time seeing where the Personality is people feel cultish about.

Bernie, sure. The basic nature of Socialism as a sales pitch is "Promise them Anything, and exploit them later". Usually as slave labor. Also, he's much more Human than the Hillary Droid.

But SMOD has the attraction of a rational end. Sure, the oceans still boil, but you can do the math. ; )

“No one would hire such a person to work at a McDonald’s, and yet she is being considered for president of the United States.”

pretty much my take. I remember the stories about her screaming fits, throwing ashtrays and such, and the SS had strict orders not to touch her, even when she was a murderous danger to POTUS.

( to be fair to Hillary, Bill was a charming monster who embarrassed her constantly with his sexual predator antics. To be fair to Bill, it WAS Hillary's job to give Bill Lewinskys to keep him relaxed and reduce his job tension, and from Bill's stories that hasn't happened in a Long Long time. Chelsea's older. )

Barack Obama is a fairly charming guy. He has a temper, and you see that on the very rare occasions someone actually questions him. You get the feeling, after 6 years in office, that he might actually order someone killed who told him he was wrong.... but probably hasn't. Just destroyed their lives.

Hillary? You get the feeling she really really wants to kill anyone who crosses her, and may already have done so. There have been a lot of suicides and "natural causes" around the Clintons over the years.......

But of course that's just a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy Propaganda thing Out To Get Her.

While many will complain that Blair & Bush "lied, people died", we now know... or anyone who bothers to look knows, that Saddam did have huge stocks of poison gas, and It wasn't a bad thing to stop him. The follow up Nation Building exercise, OTOH, had issues. Many.

Sort of moot now that Barry has deliberately abandoned Iraq to tyrants, foreign powers, and his own ego. Makes Jimmie Carter look successful.

But the fact that Hillary had a 2002 State Dept classified memo on her PRIVATE illegal server just hammers home what an absolute liar she is and that her incompetency as Sec State is unquestioned.....

Actually, Kerry may be worse.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/oct/15/ne wt-gingrich-are-more-lies-answer-hillary/

in a recent Quinnipiac poll, the word most mentioned by respondents in association with Hillary Clinton was “liar.” The runners-up were “dishonest” and “untrustworthy” — offered by a combined 394 people. The next most common term, “experience,” was offered by 82.

Now Hillary’s solution to nearly her lowest favorability ratings in two decades of public life is to lie some more.

She was asked at the debate why she now opposes a trade deal that she heralded as “the gold standard” when she was secretary of State. She replied that she’d said she “hoped” it would be the gold standard. In truth, she had added no such qualifications.

Secretary Clinton said that after “looking at” the final deal last week, “it didn’t meet [her] standards.” At the White House press briefing yesterday, a reporter asked spokesman Josh Earnest, “Is it possible that she’s actually looked at it? Because I thought it hadn’t been posted or made public yet.”

“Yeah, I noticed that too,” Mr. Earnest smirked, before confirming that the text has not yet been released.

Asked why Democrats should embrace an insider for president, the former first lady, senator and secretary of state said that she “can’t think of anything more of an outsider than electing the first woman president.” In 2008, of course, she told Democrats they should support her instead of Barack Obama because she was an insider who knew how to get things done.

The Washington and media elites apparently accept that this dishonesty is how the game is played, as long as Hillary plays it well enough. (And as long as it’s only Democrats who play it. When Carly Fiorina told the truth about Planned Parenthood in the most recent Republican debate, of course, she was slanderously accused of dishonesty.)

With Hillary dominance of the so called news with her lie of the day about her criminal acts, I missed Bernie's method to pay for the promised loot.

Bernie's plan is to tax trades. This will fundamentally transform (in the full Obamian sense of the phrase) the way the market works. This is a bad idea.

I believe Bernie wants a 90% tax rate. So if you live in CA where they have a 13.3% tax rate, you wind up 3.3% short after just paying your taxes. At least they won't ever have to pay any sales tax on anything, simply because they have no money left to purchase anything with.

Some people call this a plan? REALLY?

Just Joe announced he is not going to run.

My off the cuff analysis, based entirely on Judice against this administration, is that Obama has decided not to prosecute Hillary and use her as a scapegoat, yet. So expect no action from Justice Dept.

If Just Joe was running I'd expect Hillary to be destroyed, at a moment of Obama's choosing, probably as a distraction from a foreign or domestic disaster, like a N. Korean Nuclear strike on U.S. warships.

But that's just speculation. YMMV.

I have come to the same conclusion that Obama would have decapitated Hillary if Joe had run. Not going to happen now to Clinton even though she has engaged in highly felonious behavior.

And, the evidence mounts...

http://patriotpost.us/opinion/38356

So, the London (UK) Daily Mail publishes copies of emails marked "Secret" and "Noforn" (meaning not to be shown to foreigners)from Colin Powell's State Department in 2002, that were copied from government files onto Hillary's private server, whence they were made public by court order.
