Obamacare has . . in practice . . . played out as well as Obama's emphatic statement . . . that adding $4T to the national debt . . when it was $9T . . . was "immoral".

He PROMISED TO CUT IT IN HALF.

HE HAS MORE THAN DOUBLED IT.

On his best day this buy is a lying sack of sheet.

He looks like a Boy Scout compared to Hillary.

From Thom Tillis, Senator NC U.S. Senator

Dear Mr. Bryant:

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding the nuclear agreement with Iran. I appreciate hearing from you.

As you know, on July 14, 2015, President Obama announced the details of a long negotiated nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran. This deal appears to be a complete capitulation to the Iranian regime, paving the way for Iran to become a nuclear power. The president broke his promises to the American people by offering concession after concession: no snap inspections, no limits on Iran's ballistic missile force, no cessation of Iran's weaponization activities, no dismantling of Iran's global terror network, and no release of the American citizens being held hostage in Iran's prisons.

The Iranian regime has proven that its word is worth just as much as the paper it is written on and cannot be trusted to drop its nuclear ambitions. Without sufficient verification systems in place, this deal is nothing more than a sham. President Obama has staked his legacy on reaching any deal with Iran, regardless of how dangerous and destabilizing the final accord will be for the United States, Israel, the Middle East, and the rest of the world. The president has turned his back on decades of assurances from previous administrations of both parties that Iran would not acquire nuclear weapons. He has willfully ignored forty years of hostility from Tehran.

Unfortunately, in an effort to protect President Obama, the Democratic minority prevented the Senate from voting up or down on this dangerous proposal. In addition, the President refused to share with Congress the details of the Iranian deal as required under the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015, which he signed into law just this summer. President Obama is content to share information with the mullahs but not with the American people's elected representatives.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me again about other issues that are important to you.

Sincerely,

Thom Tillis

I have to admit how did a minority so effectively block critical legislation?

why are our public servants doing these things?

obama's legacy

glowing pile of rubble where NCY/washington dc/ etc. stood?

Because they previously passed a law that said they had to vote it down, not vote it up. And so, in violation of the constitution, the lack of consent becomes consent. The republican leadership is gullible and ineffectual.

Gullible, yes. They got suckered into giving up their right to consent to the treaty. And now it's a done deal, even though the majority is against it, and even though the requirements of the law that they passed that gave up their right to consent have not been met. That's the ineffectual leadership part.

Late night TV had both Cruz and Fiorina on- Cruz with Colbert, Fiorina with Fallon... I was less than impressed with Cruz, but very impressed with Fiorina.
Given the format, the very short time to converse, and the parrying with each host, Fiorina was extremely poised, well-spoken but also concise and clear.

I'll be keeping my eye on her... I've rarely seen anyone vying for public office able to speak with such eloquence and directness to her points.

My sainted Mother does not like Fiorina because she worked at the death star at the same time mom did.

Actually it's because the propaganda machine has emailed her to hate Fiorina. So she's probably a pretty good choice.

We should fire the R leadership. I'm not sure how to do that since the Constitution didn't spell out how to overthrow domestic tyranny without vigilante action.

Not since the Nixon administration has Congress been directly responsible for deliberately allowing the slaughter of so many people we promised to be allies with.

I did predict this and I'm so sorry I was right.

I would like to like Fiorina, but know too much of her history. I dare you to find anyone at HP, Compaq or the entire Silicon Valley who would say many kind words about her leadership or business acumen. I failed to any shining moment she had at the debates either. The press would love to see her run against another woman, but she won't last.

You should dig a little on that. Hp was in the toilet because of the board. Hp's peers were also in the toilet at the time. It was bad news all around.

No digging necessary as I was present for the calamity that unfolded. I had several friends and a former boss who were all high level HP employees. None of them liked her. I also had several contacts at Compaq who had even worse opinions of her. In fact when the name of the San Jose Sharks venue changed from Compaq Center to HP Pavilion, Fiorina was booed so loudly she was visibly shaken (she gave a speech there at the time.

She was not the only issue with HP at the time though. The board was out of control and even got itself in legal trouble spying on reporters and employees. (this was after her dismissal).

Airbozo, this is from a board member who voted to fire Carly Fiorina.

quote:

"Carly did what she was brought in to do: turn the company around and make it successful again. Not only did she save the company from the dire straits it was in, she laid the foundation for HP's future growth," Tom Perkins wrote for a full-page New York Times ad.

"Critics often claim Carly was fired at HP because she was unsuccessful. As a member of the board, I can tell you this is not true. In truth, it was the Board I was a part of that was ineffective and dysfunctional," Perkins wrote. He added that his vote to fire her "was a mistake."

Here's the thing about a company in trouble. They usually fire the CEO who got them in their current troubles. That makes good sense. Then they hire a new CEO for a specific purpose. That is to do some very unpopular things, that are necessary to ensure simple survival of the company. The CEO who is put in that positions is pretty much always universally disliked, and virtually always dismissed when the messy stuff is done with.

It's worth a read if you really have an open mind. It's a very short article. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/252132 -ex-hp-board-member-who-voted-to-fire-fiorina-endo rses-her

I'm not completely sold on Carly at this point, but I think she would do better than our current "leader". Right now we need a leader who will be forced to do some things that many won't like. We've been giving away free pizza, and not paying for it. At some point, we will have to pay for the pizza that was given away in the past, and we will have to look at if we should continue giving away the free pizza. We have stolen from our children without their consent. At some point there needs to be a reckoning.

Well, lets be honest, no one likes to lay off thousands of people, and no one likes the people who do...except the thousands of people who still have jobs because of the layoffs. If the company goes tits up, everyone loses their jobs. HP could very well have ceased to exist. From what I understand, it's not that far from going under right now.

We've been giving away pizza and paying for it with a credit card we took out in our kids' names. And we tipped very well.

I just heard a discussion of Carly's reign at HP on Fox Business News. The point was made that the successor CEO continued with Carly's long term plan and HP wound up doing quite well in the long term.

This kind of reminds me of criticisms of Ronald Reagan. Many will criticize his administration looking at very short term results. What he did was set us up for long term growth and prosperity. No I'm not claiming Carly is the next Reagan. I doubt we will recognize the next Reagan prior to their election.

I also find it funny when Trump calls Carly a failure at HP. Are we supposed to ignore Trumps failures? HP avoided bankruptcy. Trumps ventures haven't always done the same.

After watching Trump on Colbert's show last night, I'm convinced he's riding almost completely on his ego, with little real substance or anything he can convincingly elaborate upon for policy positions. "Make Mexico pay for a US border wall" because we have a 45B trade deficit with them?

Fiorina appears to be his polar opposite- I'm looking forward to seeing how things progress on the R side of things.

After the "That Face comment" and Trumps less that stellar dodge, at the cnn debate, You have to wonder what would he say or do in a tough spot.

The disparaging personal remarks have no place in the presidential campaign venue..

Mrs Fiorina showed class and greatness when she held her tongue at the debates, rather than get into a squabble with trump, when she disagreed with him she seemed to stick to facts rather than get into the base and usless mess. I think it was fair when one of the other candidates called trump an entertainer.

Where were all of these talented and intellegent people when our choice was john mccain?
