I wanted to ask if there wasn't a thread a while back on xb clutch springs and actuators that would retro fit mid 90's sportsters ? Wife has a 96 sportster sport that is being difficult after 2 carpal tunnel and 2 shoulder surgeries on both arms. bike is not hopped up and original except for exhaust and some jetting work. I have used search feature and come up with nada as I never have learned how to ask the right questions. Thanks for help! |

Look at the Muller Power Clutch. It's a different ball and ramp assembly that we used to use on tons of big twins which needed to use a heavy clutch spring for engine mods. It was incredible how well it worked at reducing lever effort in those. I would imagine it's similar in an XL. This, along with a new and well lubed cable can make all the difference in the world. There's some "EZ Pull" crap on the market too, but it doesn't work nearly as well. Stay away from that one. https://www.denniskirk.com/muller-motorcycle/power -clutch.p382824.prd/382824.sku#ratings |

You suppose the spring for the blast is weaker? I'd wager it would fit. |

I use the Uly clutch spring in my 1995 S2. I can't see why it wouldn't fit in a '96 Sporty. I think I even bought one for my 1998 S3T Defender resto project - but have not pulled the primary cover off just yet... HTH, 1313 |

Starting in '06, yes. My '08 parts book gives the part number as 37934-06. Glad that I was able to provide the info you were looking for, 1313 |

I have that spring in my M2. I could feel the difference, it was worth the $20 or so. Before that, I got a Mueller Power Clutch about 1/2 price off eBay. But the description confused me, turned out it fits Sportster, not M2. Still new in the package, if you're interested I'll check which model Mueller it is. |

Jayvee: would you mind checking on that for me and if it fits the 96 sporster sport, is it reasonable to say that the different spring and power clutch together would make a big difference? 1313 I"ll check in my 07 book to see what number it is. gotta go walk the shepherd and pyr as they get pissed if we don't get out and about. spent time at dog park last night but nooooo, that doesn't count for today. |

Sorry it's '86 - '93. The package says on it "for 86-93 Sportster/Buell", package is unopened, shrink-wrapped on a Drag Specialties cardboard. Part is this one: http://www.jpcycles.com/product/630-818 If anybody else is interested, $80 shipped (to Lower 48) |

"You suppose the spring for the blast is weaker? I'd wager it would fit." I've read that the Blast! has stronger torque pulses than the twins, and that they had to use more bolts in there somewhere to account for it. It may also have a stronger spring to keep it from slipping. But that's just conjecture. You should verify before dropping $ on a part. |
