Any news on when there will be a new Buell model coming out and which one it will be? Did slow sales of the 1190RS scare people/investors? Did the deal with HERO speed up or slow down the process?
*searched a little but mostly people posting about their "new" bike purchase

Dude! Not Buell! EBR!

The investment is already there. EBR picked up $20M in foreign investment last year; that's well-documented.

As far as release dates, all we've had is rumors up to this point. EBR was actively recruiting CAD designers on Facebook about a month ago so obviously there's still significant design work to be done. I'd guess we'd see at least one model (probably the 1190RX) before the end of the year, with the SX and the AX to follow.

I read awhile back that they were displaying new bikes at the motorcycle show in October.

I personally can't wait.

I know we should be excited about what has already happened. I know that EBR has come an incredibly long way. I know that the "elves" are working extremely hard.

However, I can't help but to have lost some of the excitement I had, some of the luster of the new models has faded.

I think we need some sort of influx of information. Some sort of teaser to keep everyone interested. How long has it been since EBR has given any new information out? 6 months or so?

I love my Buell and what EBR has done, but I, and probably most of the people around here, need something to keep me excited.

I feel the same way.

Until EBR gets a new bike out there for us to see and buy, I have concluded that that is what internet porn is for!

"EBR was actively recruiting CAD designers on Facebook about a month ago so obviously there's still significant design work to be done."

Before he disappeared, Court said all that work was done, and all that remained is the other 99% of the work that is needed in order to actually manufacture and sell them without breaking any laws.

I suspect that the CAD people they need are for another project. I'm sure they're not sitting on their hands waiting for the dealer network to be established.

I don't like to speculate but I say Mr. Buell himself purchasing gas the other day which means he either was going to cut grass or going to use it in a super secret motorcycle that is so bad ass it doesn't have a name yet because they need someone to figure out what is plural for "awesome"

Is there any links as to what an RX,SX or AX might be? The only thing i remember seeing was a modded CR from some company overseas?

AFAIK, the RX will look remarkably like an RS, just dematerialified (dematerialized is different : ) ). I.E. aluminum wheels, for brackets, structural CF replaced with aluminum, etc.

That's what I'm guessing. Plastic, instead of carbon fiber, aluminum instead of magnesium/titanium, Showa instead of Ohlins, etc. etc. etc.

Think for a moment about what we do know:

There was a Barracuda prototype. There is an 1190rs, and those are available in both carbon and other configurations. Seems like a lot of foundation on which to build

EBR as already stated publicly that they will display the new models this fall.

EPA certification lists are published in August. Nothing yet, so nothing to sell and nothing approved to say that is a sure bet for approval. To advertise a model line and then not get some aspects of it approved would be embarrassing at best. Probably not insurmountable but not in keeping with how they seem to do business.

Some dealers identified and some identifiable.

Court is not gone. He is lurking, at least at race time.

Seems like things are coming together to me.

Umm, I was kind of hoping to see a couple of tightly clad curvy "models" wearing EBR colors.

"Court is not gone. He is lurking"

I don't doubt that. But if he doesn't post, he leaves no visible sign of his presence. He's invisible. He disappeared. Don't read too much into what I post. I don't know anything : )

I would like to know if and when there will be a dual purpose ebr with abs and tc. Then I will continue to drive by all the other dealers....
(Or an abs retrofit for the uly)

I guess displaying bikes this fall means on sale next spring? I hate to buy another 1125 this year only to replace it next year.

Hmmm, kinda interesting what EB says in the last comment of that mnmotorcycle.com link:

quote:

EB: Actually we are pretty far along on electric stuff. But there again, I want to make sure what we do makes sense. I don’t want to prove a point; I want to sell motorcycles that are really viable to people. So, there are some things we are doing. There’s a serial hybrid that has a regen(erative) motor that charges it. We have a bunch of patents on that kind of stuff.

I kinda have a feeling we're gonna see something really, really innovative and cool sometime next year.

It seems an obvious given, and I'm pretty sure it's been stated by Erik in at least one interview, that the RX will be the EBR sport bike, the SX will be the EBR "naked", and the AX will be the EBR adventure bike. They're following the same basic model range that Buell produced.

My excitement faded long ago. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see what they come up with, but I'm no longer dying to see what it is. I was expecting to get something - even if just a spy photo - years ago at this point. Buell closed shop in October 2010, that's a long time to sit around and wait.

I moved onto a Triumph and while I love it and find it much easier to live with, there is that certain x-factor that's missing, so I will take a massive interest in whatever EBR puts out. The 1190RS is a sweet ride, but so is a Ferrari 458... and I'll never own either one. I'm looking for something streetable and able to live with on a daily basis.

shame alot of the Griffin stuff went to auction and dumpster instead of a new home at EBR - that phoenix may never rise.

My excitement went on "simmer" a while ago, down from a full boil.

And I'm fine with that.

I'm sure Erik is trying to avoid a lot of the teething issues he's run into in the past. Bikes rushed to market. Platforms designed for liquid cooling being released with (shrouded) aircooled motors. Charging system "fixes" dictated by the Mother Ship.

This one has HIS name on it, and he wants it to be right.

I don't blame him. This is a tough market - a black eye on product quality never goes away with today's consumer. Come out of the gate strong, reliable, and a world-beater at the track? Trifecta. Unstoppable. Come out with genetic flaws? You'll never get past the teething stage with the buying public.

Personally I can't wait to see what we get this fall : ) Right now, though...I'm gonna saddle up the Uly for a ride to work and love every mile of it (well...except for the destination...).

A note on the "Court is not gone" quote...it makes me think of a Tommy Lee Jones line from Men In Black: "Elvis is NOT dead...he just went home". Court's out there somewhere keeping an eye on us, I'm sure ; )

"This one has HIS name on it, and he wants it to be right. "
the older ones had his name on them too ; )

Im with some of the others, the excitement is gone at this time for me.
No race updates of them kicking butt
No hints from Court
Nothing
Im looking forward to seeing the new models released, but at this time I rarely think about it/not excited.
Even when threads like this are posted, I usually check other sections of the board to see if others are posted before opening....its an easy way to see if its this type of thread or a legit thread with new models etc

It was well known that the older bikes were produced while someone else had "final say" over what went and what didn't.

Now...the decision is all his.

Its more than a tank decal.

well - it has been ten years since the Blast.... maybe now it is Classic enough for Harley to resurrect it
with new graphics
and bold new dark custom styling
and maybe a dose of candy shop thick glitter

This statement is not quite correct. It should read:

This one has HIS name on it, and it HAS to be right.

Guys this is going to be the last roll of the dice. I
f these three bikes are not perfect there will not be a forth model. If the bikes have any drivability issues the media will crucify him. Remember the roll out of the 1125.

X2

It reminds me of waiting for a follow up to the original Guns N Roses Album or Duke Nukem. Let's just hope it's not as big of a disappointment when it finally does come around.

Court's out there somewhere keeping an eye on us, I'm sure

What's really weird about Court's disappearance is he's apparently selling off all his Buell stuff:

S2 ad: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 705057.html

Uly ad: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 705058.html

There are ads for other stuff.

Maybe he's making room for a new EBR or 3?
