I don't know how long this version's been up, but it's got a dealer map (locations only, no names): http://www.ebrdealer.info/index.html Hopefully it'll generate more interest than the thread I started last week about EBR actively recruiting CAD designers http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/710242.html?1366337019 . |

At least one of the dealers on the map have not actually become a dealer yet. I'm guessing that they may not be the only exception. Still hoping that someday they will carry EBR though. |

I see there is nothing close to Portland Or yet. Bellingham Wa is a little out of the way. Lots of dealers in California. |

Awesome! I always expected it, but Tom Bumpus has stepped up to the plate here in TN... don't know the peeps in the 'Nooga though, might merit a trip down there. |

My local Buell dealer had one sold but the buyer had a last minute problem and had to decline the purchase, I am lucky the local HD place ( Carolina Coast ) has always been better than average for most things, great parts guys, fair service, Most of us do our own work. I would think that the EBR bikes are at least as easy to service as the Buells of the past. |

"Blue Moon is not on the list???" They don't appear to show a Georgia dealer at all. |

The previous printed listing showed significantly more locations. Maybe the earlier list was "interested" shops while the map is confirmed dealerships. Hopefully more will be added as time goes on. |

I have a feeling there are several dealers sitting on the sidelines waiting to see what they will have to sell. |

Maybe the earlier list was "interested" shops while the map is confirmed dealerships. The current map includes "interested" shops. I have a feeling there are several dealers sitting on the sidelines waiting to see what they will have to sell. I know for a fact that this is the case for a shop on the map near me. It's hard to justify a "brand" that only offers a single model that has a price tag in the $40K range. You can have that same money invested in three models of brand X that the average consumer is likely to buy. This is exactly what the owner of a local shop told me when I last mentioned EBR. While I'm pulling for EBR, every year that slips by without affordable bikes in showrooms is going to cause people to lose interest. After a certain amount of time, regaining that interest gets quite difficult. How many manufacturers have never even gotten their bikes into production in recent years? It really is a huge bureaucratic mountain to climb before you can even compete in the market place. It's little wonder that new manufacturers of vehicles are a VERY rare thing in this country. The system almost ensures failure. |

Regarding what's happening at EBR, I did find this interesting little tidbit yesterday, a news story from last month: http://www.costar.com/News/Article/Market-Trend-Mi lwaukees-Industrial-Vacancy-Decreases-to-70/148005
quote:Tenants moving into large blocks of space in 2013 include Erik Buell Racing LLC moving into 53,950 square feet at 2799 Buell Dr.
I don't have the figures handy, but I know that EBR had initially leased just a small portion of the building that Buell had formerly occupied. I'm guessing 53,950 square feet represents most if not all of the former Buell footprint? Sounds like they're getting ready to start full production to me. |

From a conversation with an EBR employee a couple weeks ago, he said they are adding staff on a nearly daily basis, and are up to (his estimate) 60ish employees. I thought that was great info! ....couldn't talk him into a demo ride on Erik's 1190 though. |

^ Very interesting info. I had noted in an earlier thread that they were actively recruiting CAD designers on Facebook; someone else commented they thought the bikes were completely designed. I'd think there's a good chance the latest round of recruits was to design the facilities to produce the bikes rather than the bikes themselves, which may indeed be already designed. |

Looks like EBR now has its own sub-forum at Badweb: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/713 493/713493.html?1369833995 (Message edited by Hughlysses on May 29, 2013) |

I got the impression they only took the back end of the second building when they "restarted" back in 2010. The original factory on the west side of the lot is marked as an electronics company now I think, so at most they only occupy 1/2 of the original Buell plant. I could be way off on this though. |

^ I'll bet we could dig through some of the old articles and figure out the new vs. old square footage, but it may be just easier to wait until someone can ask at Homecoming. I just noticed EBR is up to 32 employees with listings on LinkedIn. |

I'm guessing 53,950 square feet represents most if not all of the former Buell footprint? The original portion of 2815 Buell Drive building occupied by Buell (which wasn't the entire building - Packline later came to shortly occupy the last ~ 10,000 sq. ft.) was stated as 40,000 sq. ft. 2799 came later and I don't recall what it's square footage was stated to be, but it was *about the same size* as 2815 Buell Drive. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that the 53,950 square feet is the entire 2799 building. My *guess*, 1313 |
