I have absolutely not a clue as to what this rambling thread is about. Does anyone care to speak English and quit farting around?

I have a suggestion. Let's have a Sifo Know It All Thread. You can post anything about anything and Sifo will come to the rescue. . Do you ever get sick of passing judgement on others? ...... Ever.......? Man, I've been here for 7 years and your posts never cease to amaze me. Masturbation of the keyboard. Good for you Raptor. Good luck. You have given me some great information throughout the years and I appreciate it. Unfortunately you got sucked into to the blowback of crap on this site. WTF is wrong with your guys. Relax. I hope I don't get in trouble for posting a naked ass in the icons that are provided to me on this site. Sifo, is that oK? Thanks, I thought so.

I still have no idea what this thread is about. Can someone please speak cogently in grammatically correct English and explain the beef without resorting to personal attacks? Raptorman, you started this thread so the onus is on you, dude. I'll catch you weirdos when I get back from tearing up Ocotillo Wells.

I never wanted to sell anything, but wanted to share a great idea. I was willing to help anybody step by step to do it yourself. I offered to do theirs for $200 if they couldn't T.I.G.. Let us all get one thing clear, I do not need money..Zero. I can understand that some of you feel like you walked in at the middle of the movie, so I get it. Awhile back I posted some pics of the best aftermarket muffle ever made for a XB. They took it down because I was not a sponsor, which I understand. Now somebody made a poor copy down to the last bolt and is selling them on their website. I could post pics of both side by side, but I will never use this form for personal attacks. If you got time read the entire 'She is cute, but" thread....The reason I posted it was to stir the pot to get people actively on this site. Why? Because if one thing, some of you guys are extremely predictable. Usually the ones to first go to the personal attacks. I had a bunch of parts for sale that I did not get 1 hit on in the classified section for about 2 months.Guess what? 2 days after the "Controversial" thread was started, Boom, all-sold with 3 offers in less then 24hrs. Tankhead, you get it, the other 90% are getting played, AGAIN..You are definitely entertaining though. Go ahead and rip on grammar and spelling errors,as I am currently finishing up re-valving and improving my stock rear-shock..Eye Tipe fst when i m in a hrry

Ok, I missed this. Care to send me a pic of the pipe? I'm curious as to what it looks like, I thought MINE were the best ones out there for an XB, I _know_ what I make is the best/most powerful for 1125's, it's a proven fact via an independent test by Al at American Sport Bike.

Tankhead, at least I'll give you credit for saying what you mean. I have no idea what F22 is going on about. I'm more than happy to provide facts, data, etc. to back my opinions when asked. That's more than I can get from those who seem to be opposed to my opinions. You can learn a lot from that sort of discussion. It tends to hone your opinion toward the truth if you let it.

F22, are you sure that offering something for $200 isn't selling something? Just because it's being sold below going rates doesn't mean it's not selling. It's not my rules, and I don't have anything to do with enforcing them, but I can understand them. The NASCAR thread sparked interest in the Classifieds? Sure it did. Every time a troll poke his head in the Quickboard the Classifieds go nuts.

Dean, as I stated before, I respect what you are doing and wish you the best. I am not in the pipe or header business, I just wanted to share what I had to offer. I wasn't selling anything with the header, just covering costs, zero profit. I write my own injection and timing M.A.Ps to each application and what gas they use. I sent a map to a guy in Louisiana n/c for his setup and he loved it.Your claim about the most power is great, but pipes alone don't make power. Xbs and 1125s are notoriously "corked" from the factory and respond well to upgrades, unlike Jap bikes. I would show my stuff along-side yours, but what would that gain either one of us? You are going to have a big-time clearance issue on your new XB flowmaster the way you got it now, but there is a easy fix. You also don't need the tab on the chin-bracket that goes to the primary-cover. (Makes servicing a bitch!)On a lighter note, her is my wife and daughter in the last snowstorm!

One of my current projects...I am opening the door to the "Skunk-Works" Massive changes internally and 50+ lbs lighter then stock already. Installed needle bearings internally for all shift-linkage. 10+ other things I could probably get a patent on. I have all build photos, will post time to time.

Ok, enlighten me where my clearance problem is. I don't use a flowmaster like you did, it was a magnaflow 11148 muffler, the dimensions are 3.5"x7"x14" so the cross section is actually 1" smaller (higher up from the ground) than stock when it's mounted. It's the same width (roughly) as stock and fits inside the 1/2 moon aluminum bracket. The tab on the front is there for support, just like the stock exhaust has, even though this weighs a few pounds less, probably 5 or more since the stock one is about 18 lbs and the shipped weight on mine is about 12 lbs in a box.

Just for the sake of the argument, we'll say ground clearance on an XB (upright on a center stand) is 5" with a stock exhaust, right?

Mine have 6" of clearance on the same bike, even without tightening up the strap to hold it in place.

Just so you know there's no shenanigans going on here, I let go of the muffler and moved back a little to get the scale on the ground. Even with the muffler falling forward from lack of support (yes, this is a brand new one out of the box that I hadn't even modified yet) it _still_ has more clearance than stock.

O kind sir, please enlighten me where I'm going wrong. This isn't a copy of "your" work. I know quite a few people have done this particular one, guys ask me to do it for them so I do. It's not totally my design, but the down pipe most definitely is. Nobody else makes them exactly like I do, I've looked at a lot of different designs over the last few years. This isn't something I normally would even build, but if someone emails me and says hey, I want that, I will build it for them.

Btw, I have about 1/4" of air under the rear tire right now for reference while it's on the stand. Let me know what the clearance is on your flowmaster pipe.

And if you meant this tab/bracket, Sifo had it right before the post was removed.

Support of the front end of the muffler, theoretically will keep it from snapping off header studs. Yeah, what's that Erik guy know anyway?

I removed my post after I saw Dean had covered in his post. We both posted about the same time. The bracket simply keeps you from snapping off your exhaust studs. Feel free to delete the hanger on your exhaust though. I just don't like the job of getting broken studs out.

When I did the 11148 on my bike, I cheated and I will admit it. (I have in previous posts). I called Jardine and bought an elbow for one of their systems. Popped it on and then made the muffler fit.

This all came about after I had seen an exhaust that was being built and sold by a fabricator from Las Vegas.

After installing the Jardine elbow, it took literally an hour to finish it up. I just cut the outlet stubs at 45*, flipped them and welded them back on. Welded a "bridge" made of 1" x 1/8" stainless to the muffler to fit the stock Buell mount. Bolted it all together. I burnished the muffler for a matte finish, when it starts looking bad, a few minutes with some stainless steel wool and it is good to go.

As I said this is a very good exhaust for an XB. It sounds fantastic and runs good with a little tuning.

I never saw a Lattus muffler, or even a picture of one, but I hear it is pretty much the same except they used some sort of Edelbrock muffler.

For me it was easy, I wanted something different, could not find a Buell race exhaust for reasonable money, so I made my own.

Not the front muffler support, the CHIN-FAIRING support at the primary cover....No shit on the exhaust studs. This is from my post. "You also don't need the tab on the chin-bracket that goes to the primary-cover. (Makes servicing a bitch!") sorry dean, but your muffler mount is a strap of metal welded to the can to fit the rear stock half-moon...

There are NO chin fairing brackets/supports on that muffler, so I gotta ask, W T F are you going on about?

As far as that strap goes, what about it? Yes, it's a piece of stainless welded to the muffler that's formed to the 1/2 moon bracket. It's there to keep from denting the shell of the muffler.

I also use the front adapter pipe as the front hangar, but milled the rear half-moon to fit the contour of the can..B.T.W Before my muffler for sale post was taken down months back, due to sponsor complaints, weren't you the one that asked for detailed photos of the whole set-up?.There was a bunch of stupid talk from the same idiots at the time about no support on the front..I have the emails still in my sent folder, and the incoming questions if you would like me to post them all. But that would be unfair to those people that where really interested. B.T.W I use a Magna-Flow, and it is WAY prettier then that can you use..Stainless!

Umm. NO.

I'd seen it in the f/s section but that's as far as it went for me. Personally, it looks like it's a little low to me, but that's yours, not mine.

I typically make my own from scratch, the welds look a bit better than a production car muffler.

This is the stuff I normally build.

This would go with the headers, trust me when I tell you this is MY design. It may look similar to a d&d pipe in that it's 2 round cans attached to a down pipe and a Y split, but the performance is different.

Also, mine fit the factory contour of the 1/2 moon bracket, you don't need a machinist to modify the bracket for additional cost.

Forgot to mention, _everything_ I build is done in 304 stainless, it doesn't get surface rust, unlike the magnaflow 409/436 ss.
