Not exactly a repost, but I saw this on Kneeslider today- if I had an 1125 that had been tossed down the road and slightly wadded, I'd love to hand it over to these peeps! http://thekneeslider.com/magpul-ronin-1125r-coming -this-year/ BTW, the quote is from the Kneeslider blurb... |

"Based on the Buell 1125R, they've had an inventory of new chassis in storage, waiting for the moment when production would begin and it looks like that time has arrived." I got this pic out of an article about the Ronin. A fleet of brand new CR's waiting to get hacked up at Magpul. Kinda sad, imho.

Yeah, me too- the few times I got to ride a CR, I really liked it, stock is just fine... The pods were a polarizing item, but I kinda got to appreciate them- just another way the Buell was NOT your cookie-cutter ricer. Oh well... at least it aint some "redneck chopper" turd. |

When it first appeared here,an "Elf" had chimed in,at the time with alarm.the radiator mounted ahead of the headstock would make it unstable. |

Butchering and naming a dwindling supply of collectible American bikes after deceased Japanese warriors seems...inappropriate considering japan's sportbike output. |

This is more like it: Damn right. I'd rather have the CR's flyscreen/headlamp rather than the XB looking ones |

At least it wouldn't be too hard to put stock forks back on the Ronin. Then it would be a good bike again. |

I dunno about that, Sifo- given that the girder fork is carrying the radiator, there'd be a LOT more stuff to do to get it back to stock... Unless it had been wrecked, no need to futz with it! |

Remember the Ronin was a concept motorcycle developed as a design experiment for I.D. guys in an unrelated industry. If it looked and functioned like every other bike out there it would have been a failure. As it was the Ronin caused enough purists heartburn and we had enough people here fighting over the single prototype that we decided to build the limited number announced. In the end the production bike is a direct representation of the original concept bike with the rough edges knocked off. It still is one of our favorite bikes to ride for fun. I'm a bit of a traditionalist, though there is one unconventional bike I like...though not one I would own...

I like the MagPul bike. Sort of a Confederate smashed into a KTM. Well, you know, KTM and the 1125 engine are 'separated-at-birth' twins. On the Tesi above, notice the exhaust exiting out the front, just like the Sebring aftermarket exhaust for the XB series. Cool. |

Regarding the take-offs... some were already sold... on this very site in the classifieds! |
