The gasket from a 2004+ sportster will work.

They gave me one from a 2007 sportster. If you look at the case on a new sporty, it is round were the starter-drive is, the Buell is more of a 70 degree corner...That is my problem

I'm sorry, I thought the cases were the same with the exception of the uniplanar mounts. American Sport Bike is probably your best bet, unless you feel comfortable asking your HD dealer for a Buell part. I always get the stink eye when I ask, so I ask for sportster parts, or I just order them from Al.

Your HD dealer won't be able to get one unless he's still an official Buell dealer. If you're desperate, you can usually reuse the old one at least a couple of times.

The range of experiences buying Buell parts from H/D dealers is amazing.

California Harley/Davidson parts department has always been helpful when I order Buell parts.
Except having to pay up front to get the parts ordered...

I've never had an issue getting or ordering Buell parts. Find a different parts counterperson and ask them.

If any shop doesn't have the part I need for my Buell in stock, I call Al.
The parts person will say "I can order it for you" and I say "I can order it myself and it will come to my door."

Oh come on Dan you know you like doing a 3 to 5 hour drive to pickup your parts.

I was under the impression that XB's run the same primary cover as the Blast, which carries a HD PN. Is that incorrect?

I don't have a Blast cover in hand for an actual physical inspection, but close-ups of images posted online appear the same as the cover on my 07 XB with the exception of the color.

Blast and XB primary gaskets are different. One hole near the starter doesn't line up. A small silly difference that really annoyed me when the "XB" gasket I drove across town for in terrible traffic didn't fit. I just ordered one from Al.
