Since it's inevitable that O will try to pass another "assult" weapons ban, possibly a handgun ban as well, who's planning on buying one now? I almost grabbed a Sig AR-15 last night while the votes were being tallied.

Also in the running is this one.

Not "tactical", "modern sporting rifle".

Civilian hunting arms have always been spinoff or hand me downs of military weapons. Often shortened, lightened or modified for ease of use or accuracy.

I suggest a second upper for the AR platform with a free float hand guard. Best for accuracy.

Alternative caliber uppers can easily be had to increase versatility, from .17/.20 caliber varmint screamer to .45/.50 thumpers suitable for Bear or Nilgai. ( or Buicks )

Buy soon. The end of the 2nd amendment may indeed be nigh. That depends on the Senate, and International treaties. Not a good time to be a citizen, though I wish all our gun sellers good luck as sales peak again.

I've got a good friend who just bought her first AR-15 last week. She picked it up from someone she knows that does custom builds as a hobby. He shoots them for a short time then sells them off, always looking for what will work better on the next one. Nice piece at a good price.

Me? I'm officially good with what I've got to reach out and touch someone.

I've already got an AR-15 in .223. I am really looking for a nice AR in 9mm since I have three 9MM handguns and a ton of 9mm ammo.

I need a K.S.G.
comparatively, the mossy is a long heavy pig.... and only 9 rounds

ultimately the AA-12 is the one I really want, but I can't get ahold of that in civi mode.

Got a .223 HBAR and a .300 AAC, pre-Obama. It was a California thing, before it was an Obama thing.
May be good to consider, if you don't already have one.
Ironic fact is, Obama has been very good for the (civilian) gun industry.

As a matter of fact I just picked up a 16" .223 upper 1/7 twist with a free float and BCG for a $375 last week. Scouting now for a decent but cheap lower, a couple of mags, and a BUIS set. If I go the New Frontier composite lower route I think I can get this thing functional for a smidge over $500.
Would love to drop some serious coin on a zombie gun, just not in the cards for now.

always thought the Tommy with a suppressed barrel similar to the Mac-10 from Escape from NY would be a great zombie killer,
especially with an underslung 12 gauge single shot from Spikes

needs a single, triple, and full auto trigger selection though.

Can somebody buy a Saiga 12 for me & send me it in different bits & pieces concealed as auto parts or something.

Still want a Mossberg 500 JIC & a Henry AR-7 for a rainy day though, & if I could slip a Taurus Judge into the mix I'd be covered..

Have you seen a Taurus Judge? I'd rather just go with a full size tactical shot gun.

The judge is a great gun for snake protection and close range. We just sold 2 to a guy who has 2 already and wanted them for his vehicles. But work great on your side walking through the woods.

Got the Mossberg 500 JIC but modified it to place a light and buttstock. Great gun for keeping by the bed side.

That would probably be the best use for the Judge (IMO of course) if it weren't possible to get shot shell loads for other common hand guns that weigh a fraction of the Judge.

Jayvee, be aware of the differences with .300 ACC Blackout & SSK Industries .300 Whisper. Read a recent reloading article on the .300 Blackout, looks like a fine AR option.

Mr Grumpy, I used to have an Armalite AR-7, overstamped Charter arms. The original model with an aluminum sleeve and stainless rifled barrel. Shot great, easy to carry & store. Downsides were that you can't stow the receiver with a scope attached, and the peep sight was a bit crude for adjustment. ( a piece of thin sheet steel with 2 holes, one to look through, one for the screw that held it in it's cast recess in the reciever. Loosen screw and shift it around. No markings, numbers... anything. Once I zeroed it, ( took a couple of boxes of .22LR... would have been faster but it was too much fun. Tedious, frustrating fun. ) it was more accurate than you'd think. Is it a legal issue because it's a century old semiautomatic design?

I always wanted a MAS-49/56. Arguably better than a US M1 Garand. ( and gun geeks do argue. )

France has long been an innovator in firearms, from the Needle Gun through the first smokeless powder rifles to the first bullpup design adopted as a standard Army rifle.

I work for Wisconsin's largest gun shop, we have over 7000 guns in stock and an entire area dedicated to Sporting Tactical. We sold over $60,000.00 in merchandise yesterday. A good Saturday is maybe 45-50. So the rush is on.

I'm never one to panic over elections, but this one got me thinking. So I spoke with the little lady and she game me the green light for an new AR. We just got Black Rain Ordinance in as a vendor so I contacted them about employee pricing and they told me they'd refund me 40% off the retail price and all I needed to do was sent them a copy of my 4473 and a store copy of my receipt. So I bought this........

I got mine about 6 mos ago and paid 818.00 with tax. I've seen them on Gun Broker for up to 1500.00. 2000.00 is crazy. This thing is basically all plastic and doesn't shoot or feel like a 1000.00 shotty.

Lot's of rules here, gotta have a hunting permit or belong to a recognized skeet club, to own a shotgun. Said shotgun cannot hold more than 3 shots & no short barrels.

A .22 rifle you can get away with as a "vermin gun" if you live in the country.

A handgun, if you're caught carrying it, Go to Jail, do not pass GO etc.

Again you can legally own a handgun if you're part of an official club, but controls are really strict.

I already have 2 illegally held shotguns, one is an old "St Etienne" 16 gauge which my wife's father used to shoot pigeons with (from the dining room, apparently).
Theoretically it belongs to my brother-in-law & I'm just looking after it.

The other is a single shot bolt-action 9mm "garden gun" which I found in one of the sheds of a house we used to own.
It might give you a nasty rash if somebody shot you with it

I already have an AR in .223 and a two 9MM pistols. I think I am going to pick up a Keltec Sub-2000 and another 9MM for the wife. That should be good for me since i have a ton of .223 and 9mm ammo in stock.

By the way, what I would really love to have is an MP-5 in 9mm. However they cost around $18,000 which is just absurd. Why can we get tons of AR's for less than a grand but no one can make a MP-5 clone for less than a grand? Maybe I am missing something here.
