I am surprised she made it this long. She has been bouncing over that line for years |

Hyper-self-absorbed Talent Often a self-destructive mix. There's a LONG LIST of names preceding hers. |

"Can you imagine having all that success and checking out at 48?" Its insane to me how people like her (and the many others who follow the same path) work so hard to get to the top/near the top and then throw it all away on drugs. So stupid. Im not saying that I'll miss her (I dont know her, never met her, and as far as I am aware she's not made any music recently, at least her old hits will still live on), but it is a shame what she did to herself. |

Yeah, hate to hear this... what's really worse is the fact that she's left her one child, a little girl named Bobbi Christine, behind. Too bad... may she rest in peace. |

Jill Kinmont died 2 days before Houston. Kinmont was a top-ranked slalom skier and was training for the 1956 Olympics when a fall broke her neck, paralyzing her from the chest down. There was irony in that at the time of her breaking her neck, Sports Illustrated had not yet published the issue with her on the cover... still a few weeks away. She went back to college, got a degree, teaching credentials and taught developmentally disabled in LA and for twenty years in Bishop CA (home town). She became an accomplished painter with numerous exhibitions - and was well loved by students, artists. Two examples for children to behold - Houston and Kinmont. Which one would you want your children to be inspired by? (Message edited by slaughter on February 12, 2012) |

Both. Let's not descend into polarity, AGAIN, on this subject. I know the Peeps thread severely lowered the bar on that here, but jeez! Godspeed to Whitney, and let us all pray/send good mojo/etc. for her little girl. And for Bobby Brown too- yes, like all of us, he's a sinner, but hopefully he can be a REAL daddy now, when he's most needed. This tragedy has touched a huge number of good people, yes, celebrities, who knew her. |

Can you imagine having all that success and checking out at 48? Well she beat Elvis, he left the building at 42. Damn shame nonetheless. |

She wasn't doing drugs. News this morning said she only had several prescription bottles and pills in her room. According to the Dr's for Elvi and MJ these are not drugs. |

I'm thankful I dont suffer with the affliction of addiction. The behavior makes no sense to me and it's so sad people's lives are wasted in such a manner. |
