I'm planning on riding over again; a couple guys from work want to go to the races. maybe i'll stay somewhere closer than Eagle, this time If the weather is crap the backup plan (on this end) is to go to the vintage races the following weekend. |

RD, I guess I stuck my foot into it. OK, why not... I'll do it. I'll need lots of help - like from people who actually have knowledge and skills and stuff. I'm all for the races - they were really fun last year. |

i would assume i'll be in again this year, but depends when the shindig really ends up being. and the more focused on hanging out at the races the whole time it gets, the less i feel like going. put me in the pits, or on a bike and im good to go at the races, stick me in the stands and i get bored easily. Kyle, apparently youve come to my shop a couple times, although im not sure if ive ever met you or not? looks like the other parts guy is the one that rang up the couple sales. i suck at names anyway. dont make it over to M-town to often but have a few good friends over there and need to again before long. some just had a son and i suppose we should go visit. |

One day of racing is plenty for me personally.I'd rather hang around East Troy and enjoy the Wisconsin roads, kick tires, tell lies and just chill. However, I'm a notorious slug. I plan to put together a questionnaire to get some kind of idea of what people want to do and when they want to do it. In the mean time, this is the place to kick around ideas. Of course, there's no reason why we couldn't have several groups - one going to the races, another riding around SW Wisconsin, etc. |

Here's a first cut at the questionnaire I threatened to make. Please add questions that you may think will help plan this year's event! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/embeddedform?f ormkey=dGVIODlyVXVhOEFicXpKRk9HSHJaaXc6MQ |

Does anyone have anything really good (or really bad) to say about particular motels/hotels/campgrounds around East Troy and/or Elkhart Lake? I'd like to put together a list of places for out-of-towners. |

The campground I stayed at last year in Kettle Moraine SP just north of Eagle was really nice. It had a lot of good riding just outside the campground, but it was really too far from East Troy to do much socializing (not knowing the way back). The northern unit of Kettle Moraine, where I stayed for the races, were ok, if a little far from the action as well. Tim: I've been in a couple times, but I don't think you've been at the counter. I think we talked very briefly at HC last year, but probably not enough to make a lasting impression. (who didn't talk to you about the S1?) |

When you're done, maybe you could post the GPS load, like somebody did with several good routes last year. |

Health food: corn, wheat, barley, hops. Seriously, they have a Facebook page that I can't look at because the corporate server thinks it's dangerous. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&sou rce=web&cd=2&ved=0CDEQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fa cebook.com%2Fpages%2FThe-Boiler-Room%2F12025656799 1373&ei=4QogT_OWD4P0sQLak_zCDg&usg=AFQjCNGrP6B1Dz3 coXmVNyeDVU7BqGSkRw&sig2=xWmZgfmYXXEbfAngIGVseQ |

If my vote counts I like the East Troy idea. It is Homecoming after all. I would rather ride than watch others ride. But thats just me... |

Bad1, I knew you had a bar, but I didn't know it was The Boiler Room. Do you book other bands? DrkSide, I think there may be a significant number (like more than 3) who will stay around East Troy for most of the time, me included. |

Milt: There were at least FIVE of us in the mob staying at the Alpine last year! The Alpine is an obvious option. It's reasonably priced, a good location and we had the place to ourselves the last two years. Their breakfast buffet is awesome. Elkhart Lake: I stayed at the Osthoff Resort last year. Very nice, very expensive, but I was on vacation!! Suggestion: Communication during previous 2 events has been somewhat disconnected. "We're eating at Roma's." "No, everyone is at Gus's." "No, Gus's is THURSDAY at 6 PM." "No that was at 5 PM." We need to develop a one-stop communication method. Maybe a real-time call-in number or organizing a contact point at campgrounds/hotels folks utilize? I don't have a smart phone so the internet isn't a rolling option for me. Just my 2 cents. I'm looking forward to it again this year! |
