Thought I'd share since we love super scooters and it's an Aprilia.

Not much of a "Step Through" in that design... probably due to the tall V-Twin they use as an engine...

I'm anxious to see the new rumored new Maxi Scoot from BMW as well as the updated TMAX (even though Yamaha won't be bringing it here in 2012).

I had some fun humbling some "real motorcyclists" this past Sunday on Celtic Motor Cycle Club's annual Fall Foliage ride.

I'd rent it! It would put the little Yamis to shame in SF.
Other than that, meh.

Kinda reminds me of the Honda DN-01, aka the "do not order one". Don't think I ever saw one on the road.

Id be into it.....if I was a drunk without a license and missed 2 wheel riding.
I just dont see the benefit of this over a real motorcycle.

That, automatic transmission and overweight.

Can't call it a DN-01 until it comes out that:
1) It has no luggage capacity
2) It is uncomfortable
3) There is no WAY to add luggage capacity.

Then and only then, can it be considered a DN-01. I'm thinking right now it's more like an oversized Yamaha Morphous (anyone remember that one?).

The only worthwhile scooter IMHO is the venerable Vespa. All others subsequent are derivatives or albeit modern bastardized motorcycle wannabees.

"When performance-minded enthusiasts hear the name “Aprilia,” many no doubt think about the RSV 4—the hot-rod V-Twin production racer-replica that is almost as sophisticated as a MotoGP prototype."

RSV-4 is NOT a V-twin it is a V-4. Its even in its name. Lame journalism.

Scooter or motorcycle. Combining them both? FAIL.

I like rocky road ice cream, I like habanero salsa - doesn't mean that I should like them TOGETHER.

Honestly- I miss my PC800...

On the plus side for the Aprilia: If they've used the powertrain/tranny from the Mana, I do remember many positive reviews- most all of the writers went in with severe doubts, but came away impressed.

Still, one day I'll have another Pacific Coast- great ride, awesome commuter, even handled great at the Gap!

I just don't understand.... why? For all intents and purposes, it's an automatic motorcycle that still has the bizarre look of a scooter?

I like scooters, but I do NOT like this.

A Vespa is thing of beauty.

Super compact, great mileage, park it on the sidewalk, very convenient.

That thing... just doesn't make any sense... I can only imagine the price tag.

Honestly, if you want an automatic motorcycle, Aprilia just about nailed it with the 850 Mana. The Integra? I don't get it either. Neither fish nor fowl... someplace inbetween.

These Über-scooters are Urban Vehicles. Practical for City work and an occasional foray into the environs.

Suzuki Bergman, the Big Gileras, they all work for their purpose.

Of course sports-bike heads won't like them. They don't care.

Why does Europe ALWAYS get the good stuff first??

http://www.motorcycledaily.com/2011/11/redesigned- yamaha-tmax-goes-public/

At least BMW has officially announced that their two super-scooters will be available here next year. Can't wait to read the reviews.

Oh, and check out the belt-drive on that 2012 TMAX!
