"Closer to the Edge" is a Brit movie made about racing at IOM. I don't see it on Netflix, however - and I don't think it was released here in the States. The film's web site says DVD is coming out Nov. 28th - again, though, I don't know if that will be for U.S. release as well. (Message edited by fahren on November 02, 2011) | ||

It falls short though when i think of glossing over the horrendous toll, the rampant commercialization, and the families, children especially, of the 80+ dead since 1990. It's a shame they don't re-organize and redesign/revise the course and make the event a safe one relative to other world class racing venues. They did so at Nurburgring. Imagine MotoGP returning to IOM. People of vision could get it done. excuses are just lame in contrast to so many fatalities. | ||

The IOM is unique. It's an island. Re-fitting the entire course with the most modern safety equipment would bastardize the whole thing. THE DANGER IS INHERENT, AND ACCEPTED. My hat's off to the competitors. C'mon Blake...  | ||

the original Nurburgring [the North part, anyway] is super challenging and NOT a good place for a modern MotoGP race the modern, official Nurburgring GP circuit has nothing in common with IoM or the NordSchlieffe.... | ||

The TT is crazed but some of the Irish races are just as nuts if not more so. The Northwest is something I really want to see as well as the Munster 100. These Irish lads do not view life in the same way we do, that's for sure! | ||
