That bike is so fat, it can't even fall over. I guess they will be skipping a few piano lessons. |

When I see people without gloves I usually ask who they want to wipe their butt for 6 months while their hands skin grows back. |

If you will notice, he can pick that bike up and just ride away. There will be next to no damage as the guard bars took the blow. Low speed layover protection is a very good thing. Too bad our Buells don't crash as well. |

Judging by the pics and how not very far the bike traveled they were going an estimated 12 mph. |

What's "limited" is, at least partially, enclosed in the toy helmets. Darwin. |

Check out the tracks where someone else bit it to the right just in front of them. Could it be the showing off to the camera distraction? |

I've never really looked around on that site until now. I am absolutely AMAZED at how many morons there are out there riding with NO GEAR at all. Shorts, flip-flops, tank tops, etc. Just flabbergasted. No, really. As much as I'd like to ride that road, along with a few others out that way, I think I'll pass until all those people are gone. It looks like there's entirely too much traffic there and all the attention that goes with it. I don't see that being an enjoyable ride with 18 wheelers, RV's and trucks with trailers crossing over into your lane. |

The Gap is heaven on the right day. That right day is never Saturday or Sunday or any holiday. Pick a nice, safe Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday or when the weather turns cooler. |

He could have saved it... Just sayin' Oh, if you think Buells don't crash well, try high-siding one at about 90 or so at the track... $45 in parts and it was fixed before I was!!! |

On a weekday, the gap is an entertaining parade route to see a lot of other bikes and bikers. For a real riders ride, hit the Cherohola. |

The very first picture is exactly why I always wear mine, as do any and all passengers. The first thing you do is throw your hands out, it's just reflex. I've shredded gloves down to the lining, they're worth every penny you spend on them. I've had people say, "$60 on gloves, are you crazy". I say, "maybe, but my hands still have all their flesh". |

+1, at Buelltoberfest a few years back, it was supposed to rain, in fact it did earlier in that day, but the Dragon was bone dry, no traffic, no cops, no squids, no nothing. Barker, me, Chad Hargis and then a few others following had the road to ourselves and it was amazing. I also made the killboy front page that day |

They make gloves that cheap? I typically get at least two new set every year, the last ones I got were $200. |

Yeah, but you've got an 87% chance of using them each riding season. |

Cycle Gear has $17 gloves that would have saved that chick some mending time.Hell $5 construction gloves are better than skin. If you think Buells don't crash well let me tell you your wrong. I totaled a Honda Civic with my XB and rode it home and thats no lie. I was geared up and sitting with the Angels that's for sure but the bike was ridable. I have seen at least 6 guys go down and still ride em home and I aint talking about 30mph get off either. These bikes are made tough and the Human condition makes us little more than bugs hitting the windshield out there armor up guys it works!!! |

Cheap gear, you get what you pay for. No gear, you pay for it eventually, in skin or bones. I'd not want to wear through skin and muscle all the way to the bone. Just guessing, I typically ride with about $1000+ worth of gear on. The helmet was over 1/2 that, gloves were $150 or so, jacket, $400 and boots at $300. I am by no means well off, but I value my skin and do what I can to protect it. My wife agrees, she bought most of it for me with no questions asked except for "What size do you need?". They preach safety at work all the time, "Use your PPE", etc. If this were a work accident pic, I'd get fired from the job for not wearing it. |
