so... i havent had a good exploration ride for awhile and i had the day off yesterday. temps werent to bad so i thought i needed a treat after spending all weekend roofing my garage!
took off on the cr and for a, hmmm i'll go this way, hmmm that way looks new, hmmm whats down there ride.
rode around through a bunch of podunk towns ive never had a reason to swing through and apparently i found...
Utopia...
then stumbled across this old beast sitting neglected in some guys lawn.
cruised around some more and apparently i crossed the ocean somewhere along the line.
then things started to get fun. i decided it was time to really go play!
and some good flat tracking roads!
i think something is stalking us...
and on down to the river...
to find this...
whoops...
what you cant see under the rock i put down right here and through the long grass is that there is no ground beside it. that rock was a little bridge, and my feet were on the cable to keep the bike up right...
i see this and wonder what the heck would have been up this high, and big enough to bend the bridge in like that. the water had to be damn high!

Some great photos there Tim. Ive done a few exploration rides but so far I havent had one so beautiful. This reminds me, I really need to get out and ride with no destination more.

You really have a great eye for what makes a classy photo. Please make another travelogue and post it in the dead of winter...lest we forget the reason we be alive.
I THINK that old muscle car is an AMC Javelin, or maybe an AMX
i was actually thinking if i could get it worked out without getting myself arrested, that the old bridge might be a cool place for Jenn and I to get married. who knows though, we also talked about escaping to a tropical beach somewhere...! someday we will decide.
and my buells have seen their fair share of water crossings, but its sure hard to get a pic of myself doing that lol.

I rode over to that bridge today. Your "rock bridge "was to shaky for me to cross over with the XB9R........let alone,I didn't want to end up in the ravine .........

Yeah....it's only 35 miles from me....but traffic was horrible on the gravel roads.....too many gawkers in town for Puffer Belly days and the stock car super nationals.

i really need to go back and get some wheelie pics on that bridge... just because!
Awesome photos Tim, I always miss Iowa in the summer.
Would be cool to move back there... maybe when I retire I can go for it.
im not sure ive ever heard anyone say that before lol. usually everyone wants to get out of here! where were you from?
You need a ULY to.
i know, i keep debating on trying to trade the cr for a uly, but everytime that option comes up i cant get myself to do it. i am really trying to get a trade worked out for one or both of my blasts for some sort of dual sport or a supper moto.

Ha, I miss Iowa even more in the fall, when the evenings are cool but not cold, the sky is clear and the lightning bugs are glowing. Sitting on a big wooden porch with a cold drink and good friends...
They don't really do porches they they used to, not here in Utah anyway. Once I sell this condo and get into a house building a real porch is high on my list of things to do.
I was all over the state for a couple years. I miss Cedar Falls/Waterloo, Muscatine, and Davenport the most. Des Moines (Ankeny) and Cedar Rapids the least.
