>>>>The groundhog must die!

Too funny! . . that's precisely what I told Vick today while we were "ice bound".

She asked "does this have something to do with the groundhog?

I told her . . if I saw that SOB stick his head up I'd pop it with a .308 like a watermelon hitting a sidewalk!

I went out and ran the snowblower through the drive. It was a foot deep except by the garage where the ground was bare. With a 30 mph wind that snow blows a long way.

Dam the visual of my shop disappeared this afternoon behind a huge cloud of snow being blown by 50 to 60 MPH winds and if my calculations are correct it is headed straight for New York City at 60 MPH.

We had a really bad thunder storm last night, it was shaking the house.
Wild winds, and plenty of driving rain.
If that's what y'all got, only with snow, I feel for ya.
Hope alls well!

Snowblower again. This time 3 foot deep. Head to work in jeep. Get pulled out of snow in the road. Guy said I was the first one to offer him anything for his troubles. It feels good to do the right thing. Then find out I don't have to go in today. I say we waterboaard the groundhog then kill it.

I found out from the union that they kept 2nd shift late enough last night that over 100 of them wound up stuck in the snow. I was told that if i didn't leave home early enough this morning to get to work it would count against me. The automatic calling system called me last night at home to say I still had to come in. No announcements at 3:00 this morning so off I went. I discovered later that the calling system went down. Plow trucks didn't plow the roads I take to work because,"that road is closed". Yes it is, because you didn't plow it! After 50+ feet of 3 foot deep snow my jeep stops moving. I shoveled more snow off that road than I snowblew out of the driveway. I only had another 40 feet as deep as the windows to go when the monster truck showed up. He was supposed to plow in the town where I was going, but he could not get there.

Had about 4 feet in front of our garage door with about 18 inches to 2 feet over the rest of the driveway. Packed about 3 feet deep by the curb. Thank you TORO!

The neighbor strategically started to shovel his drive just as I was finishing my drive. He was quite happy to see the TORO.

I was really surprised how well the little single stage thrower dug through it. Had it been wet snow I'd have been out there for many hours though. It's still not over yet, and it's blowing like mad. The chain link fence in the back yard has almost disappeared in one area. Forecast is for 7 below tonight. Yep, it's winter!

I see Al Gore is blaming Global Warming!

Most of the ice is supposed to accumulate into the evening here in the Hudson Valley. Generator is on standby, and brought in about 3 days worth of firewood. Pantry is stocked as well.

Unbelievable here . . . woke up to a huge noise about 4:30am . . . looked everywhere and found a mega-limb (call it 8" diameter by about 40' long . . in the back yard.

Coating of ice on everything . . .

Sifo, dead right....and it wont even take until August, by the end of May I'll already be grumbling.

Having grown up in Virginia I can sympathize with guys.....freezing rain is the worst weather there is...PERIOD.

Well, maybe a tornado is worse, but I dont have any experience with them. Give me a cat 3 hurricane over big freezing rain storm any day.

Everyone "up north"; stay safe, stay warm, and take care of yourself and loved ones.

I shoveled out my drive, and cleared 4' into the street, and the plow came by and made a nice new 4' wall in my driveway. I dug into the street in hopes the person driving the plow would have some common sense and leave the drive open. No such luck.

Of course that post from Sifo put a smile back on my face.......

Get pulled out of snow in the road. Guy said I was the first one to offer him anything for his troubles.

i used to do alot of pulling people out of drifts and ditches. i mean, the worse it gets the more i go out and play so i may as well. my trucks were always well set up to play n the snow simply because ive been a die hard snowmobiler my whole life. sometimes you need to get to the sleds to go though lol.

anyway, i couldnt even begin to have an idea of the amount of people i helped get unstuck. i never asked them for a cent, but i usually got something. sometimes way to much and id even try to say it was to much. if i didnt get a cent i always figured it just went towards my good karma stock pile : )
